Hello!

Another problem has occured in my current BWP playthrough. I've completed the first two parts of the DSotSC mod (Jetlaya's quest, the Dark One) and wanted to go on with the quests. I met the temple servant in Beregost, he sent me to the Burning Wizard, but the priest I should have talked to didn't appear in the inn, so I couldn't continue the quest.
Can it be caused by the mods that overwrite the Beregost areas (Haiass, Bg1 adventures)?
Can I fix this porblem anyhow? I don't want to start a new game but would like to finish DSotSC, if that's possible.
I'm playing a lightly modified tactics BWP game, my weidu.log is attached below.

Could be.
It would be nice if you can open a new topic for your problem. You can copy/paste your post from here and don't forget to attach your WeiDU.log again.
Thank you.

Greetings Leomar

Hi, I tried installing tactical version of megamod, but in the end some mods are missing, Songlist.2da was missing and during installation there were errors...
So step by step:
1) installed clean BG original saga (to D:\1 HRY\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate)
2) installed BG II SoA (to D:\1 HRY\Black Isle\BGII - SoA)
3) installed BG II ToB at top of SoA (at the end of installation, install window frezed, so I had to kill it)
4) installed BG II 26498 patch
5) because install.bat had problems with recognising of BG saga, i installed 5512 patch and added wav files to override dir (had problems with this lately, but only after installing megamod 2nd time (in 1st installation, there were some errors, like free disc space)
6) played BG 1 and BG 2 (in configurator i changed difficulty to rules, sliders in hardware tab put to max, in visual checked display subtitles, disabled gamespy, resolution set to 800X600 at 32 bit (DX test window sometimes freezes, but then all is fine) till quick save
7) extracted Big world setup to BGII - Soa, then Big world fixpack and weidu v2.10, then Big World Setup Patch v20090526.7z to \BGII - SoA\Big World Setup
8 ) then executed big world setup script, English, then compilation changed to Tactical, and checked English-only mods and further customization
9) then unchecked following mods: Drizzt NPC (BETA) v2.2, Shar-Teel NPC v1.06, Improved Horns of Valhalla v1.2, PnP Free Action (BETA) v1, Perils of Branwen (POB0805d) v0.8.0 (all this cause compatibility issues), and Market Prices v1, Selune Armory v2, Wikaede Revisited NPC v4.1, Moongaze Kari NPC v1 (because of unavailibity, but Market Prices can be still found here: http://www.camagna.n...arketPrices.zip )
10) tested availibility, updated download links and tested already downloaded mods ( Boards O'Magick Item Pack v2.0 and The Improved Volcano! v1.8 were unavailable, so I downloaded them myself and then moved them to big world download folder...)
11) downloading of 238 mods took almost one and half hour
12) at the end there were all 238 files (but TouchstoneV1.0.zip [3 806 kB] had wrong size, i let it install anyway)
13) extraction was fine except NPC_Tweak-v3.1.exe which had to be extracted manually...
14) checking and everything was without problems.. Installation.bat showed up so i closed it, then moved widescreen folder and setup to desktop and executed install.bat... choosed english, checking without problems, choosed tactical, some missing mods were listed but because a had all available and unconflicting mods from big world setup, so i ignored it... everything installed except about 10 or more mods which I dont remember...
15) now i moved widescreen bact to BGII, deleted setup-widescreen.exe, copied another weidu and renamed it so i could install widescreen...
16) when tried running game error popped up (An Assertion failed in ChSound.cpp at line 4905) so i checked override folder for SONGLIST.2DA, but it was not here, so i copied it from \BGII - SoA\BGT\Songlist\Hybrid
17) now everything is running (i dont played it more then till gorion showing up) but those errors and missing mods makes me worried... After installation I have 13,4 Gb free disc space and BGII - SoA has 19,7 Gb (i didnt run clenup so far)
I thought that all available mods are more or less compatible so is there any problem or is problem on my side?
I attached weidu.log, BiG World Debug.txt and list of downloaded mods...
So, happy reading and thanks for help if theres any hope.... oh and i just forgot, i copied some 12 portraits :D (sorry for extensivness, but i already did so many tries, so i dont want to lose anything...)

What you should have done, is to run the BGTMusic.exe from your game directory, but do it before the Biffing... the BGTMusic.exe is made during the BGT installation, so it's there after the installation... the BiG World Install.bat should run it, it should have, but I do not know why it didn't.

so i checked override folder for SONGLIST.2DA, but it was not there, so i copied it from \BGII - SoA\BGT\Songlist\Hybrid

~GENERALIZED_BIFFING/GENERALIZED_BIFFING.TP2~ #0 #0 // generalized biffing: v1

It was not there any more cause you packed everything into a .bif -file. There have been warnings that you shouldn't use the Generalized Biffing if you wish to make custom changes, but it speeds up the game, so it's there for the BiG World Projects.

BiG_World_Debug.txt ( 4.64mb )

It's generally preferred that you would archive(put it to a .rar, .zip, .7z -file) this size files, to reduce the up- and download size... as the file is about 300Kb at most, not 4 Mb's.

novotny999, your problem could be caused between your games and BGT, because BGT and no BG1 mods were installed. You described some issues with the installation of your games (window sometimes freezes). The best is to test BGT only with your Baldur's Gate games and see if you get the same error. Your installation is very faulty, so start the BWS and restore your Backup if you did one or do a fresh clean install like it is described here:
http://www.shsforums...showtopic=22966

Then do your steps 1) until 6) and install BGT only. If you get the same error, please report it here:
http://www.shsforums...hp?act=SF&f=261

The only thing what I missed was here:

1) installed clean BG original saga (to D:\1 HRY\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate)
2) installed BG II SoA (to D:\1 HRY\Black Isle\BGII - SoA)

Did you install ToSC?

Greetings Leomar

I think, problem is solved, my path to BG1 is little difficult for weidu, D:\1 HRY\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate, by the way, thanks for help, and wish luck to your promissing little mega-compilation :)

I installed 3CD Baldurs Gate The Original Saga, so yes, I installed ToSC, but because install.bat BG1 check of patch 5512 failed, so i had to patch it and copy missing files...

I just noticed that my priest spell book is missing alot of spells... as in at level 7 you have more then 24 priest spells, which unfortunately go off the page. What am i supposed to do?

You can only bear with it since there is no slider in this area. The other option is to minimize the mods that contain own spells or use something like the shadowkeeper to select your spells.

There is one little issue with installation that might have been mentioned, but I didn't find it. When you get the big list of mods to select and deselect what you want, several mods appear more than once. There were three entries for Ding0's experience fixer, and there must have been several for the Breagar mod. I deselected it at least three times, and he still showed up. I hope he doesn't prove too important, since I can only guess at what the dialogue says. At least there are a few cognates between English and German, and I know what danke means. He gave me 100 gps for something that I picked up off of a German speaking kobold in the Nashkel mines. I just wish I knew what it was, or why that Kobold accosted me after I had killed his master and fellows.

I think that's because these mods are installed in multiple steps, but I'm not entirely sure.

Yes, that is right. Some mods need to be installed at several instances and if you click them away, the mod will not be used. I think you have forgot to deselect all or you have downloaded and extracted the mod before and it is in your BG2 main directory, so the Install.bat will use them. But for an English installation Breagar will be installed only if you choose Expert in the Install.bat and will not be installed with the Tactic-version.

Hi,

I have a minor problem with this superb project. When I run the install batch file and get to the mod lists chosen (and present in SoA directory), there is missing ImoenRomance mod from the list although it is present in the SoA's main directory. Also it is missing from the missing mods list. I is listed in the batch file as follows:

%IFES%Imoen%S%Imoen%L%0%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFGS%Imoen%S%Imoen%L%3%SK% 0 | %M%

Is it correct? Or how can I force the installer to see this mod? I just hope I am not missing some others I have chosen which I haven't noticed not to be on the list...

Thx for help.

Yo!

I've already reported this bug and Leomar said it will be fixed in the next version.
You can install the Imoen mod by the way, because the install.bat contains the right commands for installation, the mod is "missing" only during the initial checks.

Theon

PS.: If you have a 64 bit operating system then you will enconter another problem with this mod, for which I have offered a solution a few posts back. There is no further error on 32 bit systems (as I know).

I have it to the end of the bwp update and it says weidu v210 wasnt installed, does this mean the entire conversion to bwp is bad or will be cancelled. I can't seem to find a download for weidu v210 anywhere.

WeiDU seems to be in the process of being upgraded to 2.11. So this remark is "ok"/has a reason.
You should have a weidu.exe in your BG2-directory from the BWP-packages, so look if you got one.
If you do, you can go on. ;)
