Hello everyone

I got the following problem. After installing the following mods which cause no particular problem so far I get the following 'bug' when my Sorceror levels up first time in the Irenicus Dungeon.

Instead of getting on additional level 3 Spell and three uses for level 4 Spells he gets one for Level 1 and LEvel 2, two additional uses ofLevel 3 spells and four for Level 4 Spells which is simply one too much per spell level.
Using CLUA I got myself up to level 30+ for tesing purposes and it's true for all Spell Levels.
If memory serves me right at very high levels sorcers should be able to cast 8 times for each spell level but the progression stops at 7. I might be wrong here though.
Jaheira's, Minsc's and Imoen's spellprogression are unaffected from my tests.
I browsed this forum for an hour but could not find anyone with a similar problem and after installing BG 2 + ToB for 4 times now I am getting a bit tired of it.

I use the following mods and installed them roughly in this order:

Official patch
Baldursdash ToB patch 1.12
Baldursdash Text Update (ToB)
Ascension
Longer Road
Oversight (only 2-3 parts though)
Unfinished Buisness
NPC Kit (some)
d0tweak (Only a few like visible Ioun Stones, corrected Demon Animations, etc.)
1pp (Flaming Swords only)
Teleport (Adds Teleport spell as level 7 spell)
Rouge Rebalancing (Exlcuded the HLAs for Bards and Rogues)
aTweaks
SCS II
Refinments (HLAs and Shapchange fix)

Sitting there for a dozen hours to get it run properly and this is so far the only issue apart from the small stutters due to the extensive SCS II scripts on my meager Labtop.

Im a bit at a loss since I tried to avoid any installations which affect sorcereors spells or spell tables and still getting this bug.

Thanks in advance for any help

Thy looking for the ~mxsplsrc.2da~ and ~splsrckn.2da~ files in your override folder, they can be opened with Notepad if they are there, or with Near Infinity or some other program if they are not there, as they determine the progression. I suspect that you could have old files in your override folder which causes this... try --change-log'ing the files to find the culprit.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Thanks for the tips. Funnily no such file mxsplsrc.2da exists in my Override folder. Only the ~splsrckn.2da~ exists but this seems to cover the known spells of sorceres which is absolutely fine. It's only the spells per day which is bugged.

I have never used Change Log option but will see if I can get something useful out of it.
Edit: Trying to get Near Infinity as well now.

Wold it work if I use the Wizard one, rename it to the Sorc file and edit it manually? I am pretty fast with such stuffs.

Ha! It  did work, I just took the wizard file, edited in a sorc spell progression table, renamed it appropiatly and copied it into the Override Folder and spell progression works normally again for now.
Thanks for letting me know which files are responsible for spell progression.
Hope my 'fix' won't interfere with anything else. :/

Edit: Was too quick. I had forgotten that I had uninstalled the HLA modification. Reinstalling gives me the same headache again. As to the use of WeiDU report, I am not sure how this is suposed to help me.

The problem could be caused, because of the reinstall. I recommend to do a clean install, install the mods and start a new game.

And instead of the Baldurdash fixes you could use the BG2 Fixpack.

Greetings Leomar
A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.
