The only sort of modification I'm using is BGT, so I'm posting it here to see if I'm just missing something or if I managed to break something.

I picked up Eldoth in cloakwood after starting chapter 5, ran him up to Baldur's Gate and 'rescued' Skie.  I assumed after either leaving BG or resting a bit, it would 'finish' the quest for him.  I basically only picked him up to do his little quest and then planned on dumping him to get my normal party back.  I'm just not sure why the quest isn't being moved into Done Quests like all the others.  Is there some way I'm supposed to trigger the extortion?

Also noticed that apparently I missed a follow-up quest Kagain where he finds their son...or is that just an extra addon that I shouldn't concern myself with (found it while searching for my issue. heh)

Re: Eldoth and Skie. It should. Could you please post the contents of your WeiDU.log file?
The follow-up for Kagain is an addition from BG1UB (or older versions of BGTTweak) if you use them.

Ah, I use neither, so I guess I won't worry about that.

I did post the question elsewhere after a few days and did find out that I needed to talk to Elkart in the Blade and Stars Tavern, which wasn't explained in any of the dialogue when I took Skie. (I simply had one person get invis cast on them, and then ran them up to rescue skie and bring her down stealthed).

I went through through the days collecting ransom, he eventually called the flaming fist on me, and running didn't clear the quest out, so I tried killing them, which also didn't mark the quest as complete.

I assume this is the WeiDU.log you need (Base directoy for BG2)

The normal behaviour would be that as soon as Skie joins the party, the journal entry is removed and a done quest entry is created.
I'm not sure what has happened. The scripting seems fool-proof. I am wondering whether this might be a freak occurrence.
I will have a look at this again, but no you aren't missing anything.

If it would help any, I can upload a save both prior to entering the estate where I rescue Skie, and an autosave after going through the motions and getting the ransom (and subsequently having the guards called), and then just ran from the flaming fist to maintain reputation.

I never really played the game beyond the 2nd chapter when I originally bought it years ago, so I've been trying to do all the side quests as I can throughout the play.  So I'm not sure what is and isn't normal, but would like to figure out if there is a way to fix it without simply cheesing it via a console command.

Or maybe a console command that I can use to flag the quest completed I guess? D:

Ah, you have attached the .SAV file. Could you attach the .GAM file?

Cool, thanks. Had a look and it was a minor scripting issue (order of actions needed to be reversed). There isn't really a quick fix unless you want to go to the trouble of using NearInfinity for a simple journal entry.

No idea how much trouble it would be, as I've never used NearInfinity, but I suppose I'll just make a mental note that the quest is actually complete, much like I did with the winter pelts.
