Hello!

Sorry to have my first post be a newbie issue but here goes.

I have installed the two games and their expansions, patched to the versions recommended, including the DX8 fixes. I have installed these mods and the game is stable:

BG2_Fixpack-v8
BGT108_Install
BG1UB_v9
UnfinishedBusiness-v18
DSotSC_v215

When it try to add these

NTotSC_v170a
NTotSC_v171

It halts with this debug:

[codebox]WeiDU v 20900 Log

C:\Documents and Settings\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\Setup-NTotSC.exe
version = 21100
Newest WeiDU is version 21100, updating!
WeiDU files in version order:
[Setup-GUI.exe] version 21100
[Setup-DSotSC.exe] version 21100
[Setup-BGTMusic.exe] version 21100
[Setup-BGT.exe] version 21100
[setup-bg2fixpack.exe] version 21100
[setup-bg1ub.exe] version 21100
[Setup-NTotSC.exe] version 20900
[Setup-GUI.exe] loaded, 603136 bytes
Copying [Setup-GUI.exe] -> [Setup-NTotSC.exe]: false[/codebox]

Is this a bug or have I done something wrong?

Thanks!
Homer

I have installed the two games and their expansions, patched to the versions recommended, including the DX8 fixes.

What DX8 fixes, they are patches for Direct X v8, you should have v9 or v10...
I would advice against the installing the v(2.5.)26499 patch.

When it try to add these NTotSC_v170a
NTotSC_v171

It halts with this debug:

E..e, the WeiDU.exe doesn't auto patch it self correctly, you'll have to make it manually, exit the installer if it's still running, copy the "Setup-GUI.exe" to the same folder, so you'll get "Setup-GUI - copy.exe" file, then remove the "Setup-NTotSC.exe" file, and rename the "Setup-GUI - copy.exe" as "Setup-NTotSC.exe", and then run it.

There is also more info about this in here. The first point.

Thanks for making me feel welcome!

The patches I was mentioning are these, for BG1:

BG1DX8English and BGTalesDX8English

The two patch levels I have, as the BGT-WeiDU recommended, are 5512 and 26498.

The manual copy you described has done the trick! I only had to do it for the 170a file. The 171 file went through on it's own after that.

Thanks again!
