Okay, I admit, I kicked Drizzt out of the party early on and modified the DLG file so that he returns to the CC rather than escaping for good. Then I got him back before starting the RoT quests.
Everything seemed to be fine, but then I noticed that no one was interacting with him. This became a problem when I hit Monzumas cave and ran into Errtu who would insist on asking "WHERE IS DRIZZT?" rather than triggering the key dialog.
So I started nosing around in NI. I noticed there are 3 Drizzt CRE files: DRIZZT, DRIZ21 and DRIZI2. It appears to me DRIZ21 is the one I want, but to make sure I performed a CreateCreature on all of them. Sure enough, only DRIZ21 would join the party. But even with new DRIZ21 in the party, Errtu didn't see him.
Just to make sure it wasn't an Errtu-specific problem, I offed Errtu and hand-set all the global variables from errtu.dlg (SecEr, etc.). But then when I went to free Regis, same deal. Regis thanks Drizzt for the rescue, but the dialog goes no further, even though driz2j.dlg is clearly present in the override directory and I can see its content.
Any clues? Thanks!

Will Regis join the party if you talk to him again? Try looking in AR3220.BCS to see if another global is missing from this quest.
Also look at REG2.DLG as that has the global for him to say "hey what's up...". Next dialog after that is DRIZ2J so I see nothing out of the ordinary. He also has checks for whether just Drizzt or D and Wulfgar are in the party so nothing wrong there either.

Thanks for the quick reply and help Hoppy.
RR3220 (I assume that's what you mean) appears to referene the global Reg2Spawn and the players experience level to determine which Regis CRE to create, and that all as it pertains to Regis. I then looked at Reg2.dlg. It successfully kicks off the dialog "Drizzt! You have no idea how glad I am to see you here!" but then the external link to DRIZ2J.DLG doesn't produce Drizzt's reply, even though I can clearly see DRIZ2J.DLG in both NI and the DLTC editor.
What's curious is that the condition for the dialog in Reg2 calls for InParty("Driz2"), but when I CreateCreature("Driz2") in the CLUAConsole, I'm told the creature file doesn't exist. So I guess I don't understand the relationship between CRE files and DLG files.

RR3220 (I assume that's what you mean) appears to referene the global Reg2Spawn and the players experience level to determine which Regis CRE to create, and that all as it pertains to Regis. I then looked at Reg2.dlg. It successfully kicks off the dialog "Drizzt! You have no idea how glad I am to see you here!" but then the external link to DRIZ2J.DLG doesn't produce Drizzt's reply, even though I can clearly see DRIZ2J.DLG in both NI and the DLTC editor.
What's curious is that the condition for the dialog in Reg2 calls for InParty("Driz2"), but when I CreateCreature("Driz2") in the CLUAConsole, I'm told the creature file doesn't exist. So I guess I don't understand the relationship between CRE files and DLG files.

Thanks for the quick reply and help Hoppy.
RR3220 (I assume that's what you mean) appears to referene the global Reg2Spawn and the players experience level to determine which Regis CRE to create, and that all as it pertains to Regis. I then looked at Reg2.dlg. It successfully kicks off the dialog "Drizzt! You have no idea how glad I am to see you here!" but then the external link to DRIZ2J.DLG doesn't produce Drizzt's reply, even though I can clearly see DRIZ2J.DLG in both NI and the DLTC editor.
What's curious is that the condition for the dialog in Reg2 calls for InParty("Driz2"), but when I CreateCreature("Driz2") in the CLUAConsole, I'm told the creature file doesn't exist. So I guess I don't understand the relationship between CRE files and DLG files.

I should have mentioned that DRIZ2 is the death variable or script name (depending on what editor you are using) that the dialog file is looking for. Not the creature file name
. I used to do that all the time 
So you want the Drizzt creature file with a deathvariable/scriptname DRIZ2 otherwise it won't match with the 2da files for banters and join dialogs. It seems like you have the correct one, DRIZ21 which has the DV of DRIZ2.
Now with the WeiDU log, your installation seems pretty messy and I guess something is scrambled with the INTERDIA.2DA and or the PDIALOG.2DA files.
Current installations of RoT are supported usually installed just after BG2fixpack (The gibberlings3 flavor and not Baldurdash WeidU).
If you want a guide to help you install the mods you want and have best compatibility, try looking at the Big World Project PDF. Further tools from the BWP can help append fixes for even more compatibility or try to.

There isn't much more I can do to help because I can't reproduce what you have going on both the problem and the installation.

Thanks again Hoppy and understood. Is it possible to edit the 2DA files by hand? I took a gaze into INTERDIA.2DA and noticed the Driz2 entry references the file BDRIZ.DLG. Sure enough, there is no such file. Should that be DRIZ2J by chance?

One more thing. There's no entry in PDIALOG.2DA for Drizzt at all.

Here is the line I have for Drizzt in PDIALOG.2da. The INTERDIA.2da is for banters which use a different file prefix "B" but the dialog that isn't happening for you comes from DRIZ2J and is found in PDIALOG.2da. You can try and edit by hand but I can't guarntee this is the only thing that would need to be edited or done.
