Just wondering, has anyone tried this with a party of 6 and got past it using SoA Gear and Abilities only?
So far I have not been able to do it successfully without losing at least 1-2 of my party members, unless I use a couple of HLAs, and even then I still sometimes lose members.

At the moment I'm still on the mainland, but I'll give it a shot when I'm in the gauntlet. Though it will probably be "slightly distorted", as SCS II grants a save for Trap the soul, albeit at -5. Moreover I'll probably have all characters at 3.5 to 4 million XP.

I tried, and did it using limited wish to create an army (read - endless fodder of bunnies), 5 traps from my theif, and 2 ring of the rams. It took many a save file, though...

Taking my party of six to the UC very soon (currently clearing the Third Stage waves). The party, "Team Darnelle," consists of vanilla NPCs Keldorn, Anomen, and Valygar, and mod NPCs Fade and Kivan. As of this writing, Darnelle (female half-elf) is a F7 -> W17 with 2,969,847 XP.
Update: I've abandoned this saved game after trying several different ways of approaching the UC. Had success with a previous game, in which my party consisted of three Generic Archer characters, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to win the challenge with other party mixes.
