Ok I must really suck. Did no one else find the battle with Arlistan in the cave extremely difficult? Im getting my ass handed to me everytime. Oh and do I need to worrry about chunking Tashia? Ive been trying to avoid Tashia and just take down everyone else, but the damn fishmen show up in droves. Damn this is a pain in the arse.

First thing is first, it's alright to kill Tashia here. In fact, you can't get to the next part without her dying (this situation is a bit similar to where Bodhi would abduct your love, vampirize him/her, and then you have to go resurrect them at the alter in the Shade Lord dungeons).

And yes, the battle in the caves is a bitch...see, before the module, the fishmen would show up...and between them and Arilistan's creeps, it was all I could do to hold my own at times.

However, it should be a little easier realizing that you can kill Tashia (meant to in fact). Also, I highly recommend summoning allies by your side as well (such as Summon Monster, Elemental, etc. to level the playing field some)...

Actually I didn't find this one too hard. Although I was suprised at the amount of really cool unique items that you get for this quest. I haven't played Tashy for a little while but are they still there? If so, I'd recommend changing them for the big uber Tashy revamp...

Thanks Bri I thought it was just me, since no one had posted anything regarding the difficulty of this battle. Maybe I should go pick up another NPC since I didnt replace Tashia when she left. Yes most definitly.

Well I did leave to rescue Imoen rather quick, so I dont have any uber badasses in my party yet. Also I regard any battle with 5 mages, 5 warriors, and who the hell knows how many of those fishy bastards which spawn in continually, as rather tough. And like I said I suck.

It depends on the party you have, Grim, as well as the levels, obviously...

Once, I made the mistake of having mainly mages and thieves...let's just the results ended with me in an early grave.

As for changing the enemies, well, if Maus is still busy, then I will try and program it...(along with Delainy) but that will be a long time in the future yet...

Speaking of which, I probably should put up more riddles ;-)

No, don't think that you suck, its just that some parties (and some levels even!) can make a big difference as well...sometimes it was a cake walk for me, sometimes it was just a slaughter fest.

Yes, getting a 6th character in the party then would really change the odds of battle (and you can get one that wouldn't normally mind being kicked out...and then when you save Tashia, put her back in the party).

Well its not the enemies that need changing but the items they carry. If I recall I could have (but didn't coz I thought it was a bug) several unique slings (I think it was that one that adds your strength to damage or something), several necklaces of immunity to level drain (name escapes me) etc etc. It just seemed kinda odd to me...

You net something like six Amulets of Power and Cloaks of Protection +2. The enemies using the items is not really a problem, the items simply need to be flagged as undroppable. We also need to change the area script so that the original Kuo-Toas don't spawn in the Aril battle.

i actually liked the cloaks of protection...i was able to upgrade a bunch of them later in tob...but too many amulets of power...one would be nice, but its not really a big deal anyway...not much vampire threats by the time you reach chapter 6 anyway..

No, it's still too unbalancing. The AoP's also decrease casting times and add MR and vocalization. Having six cloaks +2, which can be subsequently upgraded by Cespy is just too much. One of the knocks I've heard regarding Tashia is the monty haul you get from this fight.

i agree, the loot is really too much. and for the difficulty of the battle: i request you drag out the guards from the back of the cave one at a time ( even the mages will follow you) . that way the battle didnt prove any difficulty for me.

Well, maybe something can be done about the items, for sure...as for the number of enemies, we'll see.

You know when Improved Irenicus steals your AoP before the the first battle in Hell ... it was a good laugh  meaningless, eh?

Maybe getting one extra AoP would be nice, but so many...

Actually, I could see one amulet of power being allowed...but not the Monty Haul that is the cave...

I disagree. There are only two items in SoA that grant NPP. Adding a third is a big imbalance IMO.

There's actually a lot of things that should be done to remove cheese in Tashia, but I think I'll start a new thread for them.
