Well, I did eventually get my power supply. And yes, it works just fine... but when my old PSU died, it took my CPU with it. I'm currently running a backup AMD single-core CPU that's over 7 years old. And because you can't get new socket 939 CPUs on the market anymore and I don't want to make a risky investment in a used one, I'm currently without the capacity to play any modern games decently, including Skyrim.

I told you in the news thread that my machine is ancient apart from the GPU... now it's even more apparent. I'm currently saving up for a completely new setup that I hope to get together in January. Have fun with Skyrim, I'll be over there playing Pong. Or possibly Icewind Dale II.

You could have my old CPU that is 939 socket and the motherboard with it if you like. :D

Heh, only if you're paying the postage fees. :P

Seriously though, I think it's about time that I upgraded anyway, you never know what's going to fail next with this rig.

I played it non stop for a couple of weeks, but now I'm back on BGII.
Nothing you do has any effect on the game.
The game looks great, I'll have another go in a few months.
With a few more patches & some good mods it might be better.
