Hi again, I have been reading here for a few days here trying to learn the differences between all the mega mods, and I think I figured it out.

Basically use BWP correct? (I read that the BWS is way outdated) I dont want to install 100's of mods.. Basically I would like to acomplish this:

add:
Baldur's Gate Trilogy 1.12
Region of Terror 2.1
Shadows over Soubar 1.13
The Darkest Day 1.14
Tortured Souls 6.10
Check the Bodies 1.13
Tethyr Forest Patch 3b
Dark Side of the sword coast 2.15
(I would say add Never Ending Journey, but read enough here to see to not even try)

And the following NPCs:
Fade v3
Amber 2.6

I wanted to add the Imoen romance mod, but as I didnt see it here I wont try.

I have WeiDU-Windows-2.31 (which I believe is latest version)

And thats it, I have downloaded all of the latest versions of the mods above from this website (I posted the versions I have).

Also I have all the English BWP stuff from Here

I should be good to go now correct? once I follow the game install directions found on this site.

I just wanted to ask this before I start if anyone knows of a mod above that I should not add due to problems or if theres a essential mod I have to add that I didnt list (like a patch mod, fixpack, or something like that)

Thanks for all the patience you experts here have with us masses, and thanks for any reply or advice!

PS, I would also like to add the big world map found Here But I have a feeling I can't, is this correct?

One more thing, reading the Mega Mod Help topic here, I gather you simply can not add widescreen? (Yes I read Jarno Mikkola's post somewhere here about widescreen, I could't tell if he was simply saying dont even try, or be careful on install order but I think he was saying, dont even try)which is fine, but widescreen would be nice as I have 1366x768.

The best suggestion I can give you is to read the BWP pdf. ;) Not all of it necessarily, but the beginning and enough to get a grasp of the basics.

PS. both the Imoen romance mod and the Worldmap mod are listed on the linklist you mentioned and are fine to use in a BWP install, as far as I know. As is the Widescreen mod.

Hi thanks, Yes I have that pdf, thats what I was gonna use along with the install advice on this site :)

I must have missed those mods, but after your post I went back and found them, thanks! (Though the Imoen Romance is at a latter version then the one listed there, but I guess I'll take a chance)

Are there any mods that I HAVE to add that say fix the game or something that you would advise me to use? (Im not asking what are good mods to install (I saw the rules lol) Im just wondering from your experience if there some sort of unofficial patch, or mods that fix errors that I should add?

Thanks for the help (especially on those 3 mods I had wondered about!)

EDIT: Nevermind I see (on PDF)

Another EDIT: If I use PWS with the above mods will that work? Im asking because after reading allot of that PDF, I had thought that BWP would install everything for me, but it looks like I have to? Is that correct? As the pdf tells me how to install.. I was hoping I could just copy the mods over and the program would do it? Or am I reading too far ahead? (Sorry dont yell at me for asking this)

I think my problem is I have read a ton here, and I think Ive read so much (and it took me a while to realize that BWP and BWS were two different things, now Im not sure what Ive read goes to what lol

Unfortunately, the Big World Setup utility is very outdated and will nor work very well if used as is. You can use it to download mods without doing a lot of manual work, however you may get old/outdated versions of many mods, which will not necessarily work well together.

BWP will install (nearly) everything for you using the Big World Install.bat. But first, you need to have downloaded and unpacked the mods you want in your BGII - SoA folder. The linklist should link to the newest versions of all listed mods (though it may be a few days or a week behind on getting updated with the very latest releases).

Basically, this is what you need to do. Feel free to read that whole thread as well.

OK My first attempt failed, the install hung up when it got to the BGT, on the first file at copying it, it hung up (I waited 2 hours, it never left that file) I have a few questions

1. Do I have to manually install the BG2 Fixpack (The bg2fixpack-v9.exe file)? Or do I install it to a folder, then copy it over to let the install.bat install it? BTW it took me forever to realize why I had that bg2fixpack-v9.exe file in the BG2 directory but install bat could t see it, I didn't know I had to run it first. (PS, this was the case with wide screen mod, I had to run the exe and install to a folder then copy over)

2. You mentioned that the install bat installs almost everything, what doesn't it install?

3. for the WeiDU part, I just copy all the stuff to BG2 right? Or do I have to install it somehow?

I ask these because the pdf tells me how to install everything, but as the install.bat does all of it, I'm not sure what it does and what I have to do?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

EDIT, the answer to my own question is yes, install to empty folder and then move over and......

I DID IT!!!! I installed with the BWP successfully!!!

Were there errors, yup.. but it completed all, and I started a new game, and all looks well.. Yeah!!!
