Starting a new BG2 game with BGT 1.14

I get a NO VALID REPLIES OR LINKS as soon as the dialog box opens if my PC is MAGESCHOOL_GENERALIST.

I checked the dlg file for this creature, the response for mage kits (1) has a few actions linked to it :
SetGlobal("A6GenSpl2","LOCALS",-1)
SetGlobal("A6GenSpl3","LOCALS",-1)
SetGlobal("A6GenSpl4","LOCALS",-1)
StartDialogNoSet(LastTalkedToBy(Myself))
while unkitted response (2) doesn't have any. I don't know what these 3 globals do, I'm gonna try copying these 4 lines for response 2 and see what happens! Edit : Actually I don't know how to change dialog or even if it's possible within NI. Can it be fixed locally?


Is this a new BGT feature? I don't think I've ever seen this before. More edit : Looked around, apparently it's new! 1.13 I guess though it was never announced/advertised afaik besides Asc64 saying he'll work on something for wizard spells in new bg2 game here last october.


If someone wants to look into it, the creature is a6genspl.cre and dialog/script files bear the same name.

I got that too. Annoying trying to start off as a fighter/mage.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

Yeh, any multi-classed mage or just plain mage. It also breaks whatever is supposed to happen next, cutscenes etc...

Here it is, saved game right after the NVROL. Character still in his cell because the cutscenes that should happen aren't triggered.

Yeah, looks like MAGESCHOOL_GENERALIST gets screwed over by 00024: ~SETUP-REFINEMENTS.TP2~ 0 10 // Revised High Level Abilities: Refinements v 3.31 (since this IDS entry is in 0023 but not 0024). I might have to include TRUECLASS to compensate. If it isn't too late in the order, you could probably uninstall Refinements

--change-log shows the file as it was just before a given component was ran, not as it was changed by the component. Thus, it was either mod 23:
00023: ~SETUP-D0TWEAK.TP2~ 0 4 // Tweaked Weapon Enchantments: v20 BWP Fix
or it was done by the BWP .bat, something that is undetectable by --change-log.

I don't see any place where BWP modifies the kit.ids in the batch file, so it's probably D0Tweaks. Since SimDing0 is probably not going to be really active right now, do you want to make a BWP fixpack fix for this problem?

I'll report this on the D0Tweaks form anyway, just to make note.

Thanks for looking into it, I fixed the dialogue issue locally by replacing MAGESCHOOL_GENERALIST trigger by TRUECLASS as found in my modded kit.ids.

I was just wondering if there are any plans to develop this feature for bards and at least the 3 vanilla kits (maybe as well some popular bard kits from mods like RR) ?
