Random mods walkthrough questions

Sometimes playing BWP I just get stuck without knowing if something does not happen because I'm missing something or I have messed some script. Or I just have no idea of what to do next. Easiest way is to find a walkthrough for a mod or just take a look at its scripts, but doing so always completely ruins experience for me and I swear I'll never do so again, hehe. So the only thing I ask is to give me as slightest hint of what to do as possible. Like in spite of saying "give Gaelan Bayle 20k gold", a slight hint "try to find a shadow thief contact" should do much better. I know it's a little too much to ask, but I hope you guys understand.

Current question is: Tashia romance. Major spoilers below, so you'd better not open the spoiler if you have not completed the awesome mod yourself.

Yeah, thanks! Umar hills cave was the first area I have checked, but have found nothing there. Weird. Anyway, that's exactly the hint I need right now, at least I know what to look for! Thanks again, mate, that's like a millionth time you help me with walkthrough hints, hehe.

Oh you did meet the famous Company of Eight.

Sorry for not answering earlier (watching olympics) but great that you figured out the changed entrance to Tashia's cave by yourself (better that way).

Ask any hints you need and i try to answer without spoiling too much. :D

Tethyr Forest Patch Version 3b

This work-around/fix was created to address the conflict between CtB and Tashia with that entrance. What I don't know is if is compatiable with ther curent versions of each mod.

I presume it's not included in the BWP fixes, as you're playing a BWP game.

As for the general topic about "Where to next?", I agree it can be very confusing and frustrating situation, especially in megamod game.

The only advice I have is to search/read/review the particular mod's forums, someone has surely asked the same question, probably repeated. And if not, you can be the first!

(And having better descriptive discussion Titles helps the community help you even better!)

It's easier for me just to check the scripts if I really do not know what to do next, but it'll spoil the fun. If I start searching I'd definitely spoil even more. Glad that there are people like micbaldur who understand how bad can spoiling be and help without making any.

Regarding the fix I think there should be just one simple thing - note on the map. If I see a note on the map like "a strange cave" I'd check the area for entrances - I had no idea to check if there are more than one entrance on the location I have known for years.

Agreed.

There's 2 map change-options that I can imagine:

(1) an alteration to the map that somehow graphically points out the new entrance (although a sign saying 'Psst! Over here!' just might be too obvious!

(2) When any party member gets within a certain distance of the original entrance, some game-text appears over Player1's head, directing him/her to look for/at the new entrance.

Can someone recommend this in the CtB forum? (Particularly about adding the fix to the main mod, at least as an optional component)
I would/will do it myself once I get back to playing again.

Agreed again-- as NPCs mods are supposed to be installed after BiG quest mods.
