Looking for: A tester, preferably someone who currently has IA:Core or even "D2 Bear & Werebear Animations" installed.

Details: Hey there,

I did the <D2 Bear & Werebear - "Mod"> a while back, which is just a port of two animations from Diablo II.

When I took a quick look at those animations yesterday, I noticed that the werebear animation's transparency setting was totally messed up for some reason I can't explain. My only guess is that either my old or my new pc system messed up while compressing or decompressing the archive.

So there are two things I'd like you to do:

1) [optional]
If you already have "D2 Bear & Werebear Animations" installed, take an old saved game and assign the "Werebear D2" animation to one of your characters (Shadowkeeper/NearInfinity or something similar will do the job). Check out wheter or not the animation seems to work (the messed up files show the animation enbedded in a semi-transparent cube). Come back here and report!

2)
Download the new fixed version of my mod which I attached to this post. Install it and check out wheter the fixed animation is indeed fixed. Come back and report!

Thanks in advance! :)

So this is the new file I attached?

Thanks a lot for your fast help.. though I must say I'm kinda clueless as to why the new file doesn't work. (It works flawlessly on my system..)

Anyhow, thanks again, I'll look into it. :)

On a second thought, would you be willing to download the original file (follow the link in my first post) and just copy all files from the werebear_d2 folder into your override? If this is indeed a problem caused by my new pc system the original (version 2.0) file might actually be fine....

Thanks a lot! I had already started to wonder why no one ever complained about those horrible broken animations.. :)

So this implies a few things..

1. I've just wasted a few hours of my life fixing a file that wasn't broken in the first place.. :)

2. Something seems to be very wrong with the winrar version that was shipped with my new win7 system..

3. The "fixed version" (an unrelated issue with a missing weiDu installer..) I uploaded a couple of days ago probably doesn't work either...

Anyhow, thanks again. You've been a huge help!

The only really weired thing is.. I have all IA components installed and the only animation that seems to be broken is the werebear one... very strange..

I wouldn't rule out the possiblility of my system being the crazy one unless someone else replicates the same problem :P

Also, never trust pre-installed software  Have you tried 7zip? Almost every mod uses it these days and it compresses better than rar/zip :D

Tried out your attachment because I had a clean install :P Something's wrong...

That shows that the animations base .bmp file .bam's haves wrong color set as the translucent one, so the compiled .bam gets it off... the translucent color needs to be either the first or the second color of the .bmp file... that's all I know.

Edit; darn, wrong .extension.

Thanks for your input, though it seems as if its only a problem on my side right now and the old (v2) is working as it should.
