Bandits holding the fibula of Silvershield did not spawn

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm experiencing a strange problem.

Am kinda going mad hunting for the Silvershield's fibula, which I realized was not found even by the time I had combed the entire coast way map (the one directly below/south of FAI) and met Kagain in Beregost.

 

I've scoured the map a second time and with a new game. Still no bandit leader. I've used only the mods recommended by GOG. Which is the Baldur's Gate II Fixpack, BGT-WeiDU 1.18, Unfinished business 1 & 2 (in that order). I did not use the Tweakpack.

 

Next, I tried fully uninstalling both BG and reinstalled everything except unfinished business 1 & 2. 
Selected yes for most of the "cool but optional" options from the Fixpack. 
Now even the bodies of the dead caravan folks and the Silvershield kid are missing. The flies circling the dead bodies are still there though. No bandit leader and Kagain doesn't even see the boy's body anymore. I did not recycle a save game, this was done with a new character in a new game.

 

Reinstalled again and only used the BGT-WeiDU ver1.18, without the Baldur's Gate II Fixpack. Didn't touch anything else. 
The 2 bodies of the 1st caravan appeared, but the body of the dead boy is still missing and there's no bandits there. Which led me to think that the problem may be with the BGT mod?

 

I think downloaded and tried reinstalling using the BGT-WeiDU ver1.16. The boy's body is still missing...Earlier versions of the BGT WeiDU are no longer available so I couldn't try 1.15. From the looks of the version history, 1.16, 1.17 & 1.18 are very closely released and likely very similar.\

 

At least on my first installation, the boy's body was there, only the bandits were missing, along with the fibula. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. It was a clean installation each time, after removing everything from previous installations. 
Just for kicks, I wanna see if the Unfinished business can at least bring the body back, since that was how my 1st installation was. This time, I get a fatal error during UB1 installation, probably due to conflict with BTG1.16.

 

I got really tired by this point so I think it'll be more sensible to come ask for some help here before I continued with my trials and errors.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can post a log too if that would help?

In vanilla BG, Kagain simply gives up as soon as you enter the area. BG1UB 'restores' this such that when you get close to a group of abandoned caravans, there will be some bones and Kagain will initiate dialogue. As far as I remember, there were never any bandits where you find Kagain's "lost child' using BG1UB.

Thanks. Someone on the GOG forums went to take a look and there are bandits are the site, and the fibula was on one of them.

The fibula and the quest to return it are added by The BG1 NPC Project.
