Using BWS from 1/9/2014, and did a BWP Recommended install with two extra mods added.

I started seeing a lot of German text when I was playing the game, so I looked through the debug files and found that six modules installed in German rather than English:

Setup-ACBre

SETUP-AC_QUEST

SETUP-JA#BGT_ADVPACK

SETUP-JA#BGT_TWEAK

SETUP-KORGAN

SETUP-SLANDOR

Any idea what's up?

I read all of those comments.  I even looked at the source code changes that were checked in.  But this is a different issue.

The previous comments were about language problems when installing in German.

In this case, I am installing in English, and getting German.  Totally different issue.

I actually found the problem.  It's in the Weidu-EN configuration files.  Quite a few mods are listed with "Tra=1" when it should be "Tra=0"

(Would it be obnoxious for me to put a sig that says "Read -- It's not illegal"   :) )

I guess you got me with the reading. ;)
Nevertheless, I think it still applies though.

The first mods you listed are from a German coder, so German comes first - the translation did not seem to be too good, so it was not even included with the mod.
So it was included in the Textpack and a patch added this for example:
LANGUAGE ~Deutsch~ ~german~ ~ACBre/TRA/german/setup-ACBre.tra~
+LANGUAGE ~English~ ~english~ ~ACBre/TRA/english/setup-ACBre.tra~

So ACBre seems fine... 0=GE, 1=EN.
If the English Textpack was not applied (some problem , the textpack-folder was renamed, too), I guess you could get the default translation, which is German in this case ... not tested, just a hunch.

Edit: Just did it with German Textpack and WeiDU does not bother about the --language-switch as long as there's only one possible translation.
So you get Jarls and Ascalons mods in German, along with a few other possible candidates.

Just checked - all of the above mods are normally installed in English.
Please use the latest version of the BWS from 11.01.2014.

@Quiet, you need to make a signature for yourself, something that links to here, or such. Yes, I am the devil instigating this, darn there's no way I can insert my name into there somewhere...

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

When installing BWP 14 without the BGT Music mod, there will be wrong tracks during BG1 (eg no battle music). I know that Tobex should be used now, and BWS does skip BGT Music automatically if you select both mods. But I installed it 3 times and the tracks were always wrong. Only BGT Music Mod with exepatch seems to work.

@Quiet @dabus

I tried the new upload with BG2EE and I noticed that the CoMEncounters could not register that ToB was installed in the EE version.

Just before i noticed you had uploaded a new version I had installed the mod manually and i did not experience any issue.

I noticed that the versions weren't the same so i presume you tested the setup with an older version of CoMEncounters?

P.S. THANKS for this wonderful program!

I don't own the EE games. A few guys where nice enough to install what they wanted and it seems like CoM was skipped. And if I remind correclty, the mod wasn't available for download between Christmas and New Years. So you might want to ask at its forum or wait for other guys who know about that.

It worked with the latest version.

I don't understand why by looking at the changes though...   :)

Anyway, thanks a bunch!

I noticed that there are 2 links for CoMEncounters on the homepage one for EE and one for the "normal" version. The mod used in BWS was the most recent version of the normal version so I guess you could just change the path to the EE version of the mod and all should be fine but I do not have the knowledge on what goes on behind the scene in BWS, so it might very well be much more work involved.

But thanks for the answer

Yes, your' right, BWS used the wrong download. Didn't notice that there are two downloads.
Just a note: If you see that something goes down the drain, you can stop manually or instruct the BWS to stop and errors.
Get the correct download for BG2EE, extract the archive, resume the install and the BWS will use the replaced files for your install.

Okay, continue to fight with the wrong music in the game. The current BWS was tested only on a minimal version of the installation and everything seems worked fine.

Added:

  • Showing components for some old mods

Fixed:

  • Problem with BGTMusic installation

Updated:

  • CoM Encounters EE and UB

Cool. Don't see it though since I usually disable sigs. Browsing forums and seeing sigs that are 2 or 3 times as long as the post itself made me that ignorant. :D

Things do indeed seem to have fixed themselves with the newest install scripts. I have the correct tavern and battle music in BG1 again!

Thanks for your work on this, Quiet. I'll report back if anything goes amiss, but a relatively basic install with both ToBex and the full BGT Music seem to work fine in initial testing.

There seems to be a mistake between "Turambars fixes and tweaks" and "Dsotsc/Ntosc". BWS wants to select some of the Kit-components of Turambars mod, but it is not possible to select two of them (for example Shar'teel Kits), because you just can select one of them. I don't want to install one of these kits at all, but BWS thinks it is necessary (sorry for bad english)

Yep, my fault. Fixed now.

Fixed:
  • DSotSC/NToSC no more needed Turambar fixes and tweaks' kits
Updated:
  • Selection fits IP 14.0.1, FP 14.0.1

Hey, I've been running a Big World Project Let's Play for about 2 years now (http://www.shsforums...shtars-journal/), and I'm almost ready to kill Sarevok. I think it is a good time to upgrade my game to the latest version of the BWP. Should I use this, or just go manual with the batch files?
