Can anyone help me solve this problem I'm having with Sword Coast Strategems? It seems to be conflicting with another mod or something.

Here is an archive with my Weidu.log, Big World Install.txt and Setup-Strategems.debug. I hope its enough and thanks.

You have old version of Wheels of Prophecy, please redownload it from here: http://lynxlynx.info...heelsOfProphecy

Ok I've downloaded that version but I wasn't sure how I should go about installing it so I renamed the archive to what BWS was expecting and started the installation over. I'm still getting the same error messages though. Did I do something wrong?

-Celeras- open the "cdpnp.2da" file with Notepad and copy paste the text content to a post. The file is made during the installation of the BG2Tweaks packs mod(or the Tweaks anniversary mod). And it will tell the origin of the C!PP27.ITM file.

Have any of you experienced problems with the GUIsetting.exe file? I can not locate it int the bg folder. Game is unplayable in its original resolution.

Okay guys, I think I have another bug to report.

I just started the BiG World Setup (with update), and as one of the mods, I selected "Baldurdash 1.74 or lastest".

Since the last Baldurdash version is 1.75 (and for some reason this version did get downloaded), after starting the install, the BWS complains about "missing mod" - Baldurdash 1.74.

I extracted "BDash175.exe" manually (not sure if that was needed, but I still did), and I had to rename the files "Setup-BDToBv175.tp2" and "Setup-BDToBv175.exe" into "Setup-BDToBv174.tp2" and "Setup-BDToBv174.exe", respectively.

So far from what I see, the installation is going fine after this little rename. So, I think the fix for BWS should not cause much trouble.

Thanks in advance!

I had to rename the files "Setup-BDToBv175.tp2" and "Setup-BDToBv175.exe" into "Setup-BDToBv174.tp2" and "Setup-BDToBv174.exe", respectively.

It's Vlad fault. He constantly rename tp2 filename every time when he release new Baldurdash version. I might ask him to stop, but don't count for anything...

Gotcha. Although the mod has some pretty useful tweaks (IMHO), so it would be a shame to break the installation because of something so trivial.

What version of Tweaks Anthology do you use ? (BG2Tweaks mod is obsolete now)

I'm not sure since it only says tweaks anthology latest. Buuuuut I just updated BWS and started over again... It downloaded some new versions of mods and now everything is working.

Have any of you experienced problems with the GUIsetting.exe file? I can not locate it int the bg folder. Game is unplayable in its original resolution.

Is this some new setting in the EE games ? Or do you mean the setup-GUI.exe that won't show up until you install the BGT mod, or the other large ancient mods that compile the mods content ? Or it could be the BGConfig.exe too. Cause as far as I know, there's no such thing as "GUIsetting.exe" file in any of the games.
Anyways, you don't need to touch that if it's screen resolution problem at least in the non-EE games, cause you need the Widescreen mod to play at any other resolution than 640x480 or 800x600 (or 1024x768, this too is restricted to be a non official supported resolution, aka it can crash the game, and the higher, will definitely). The BWS will download the mod when choose to install the mod. In the EE-games, the game takes your Windows desktop resolution to use..

Did you see why you haven't got faster reply, it's cause your question wasn't specific enough to give even the farthest of glues of what you are actually asking for. It was as specific as: "WTF ?"

I'm currently attempting a tactics install for BGT however there are a few mods I can't download.  I've tried Google, Internet Archive, and searching the parent website to no avail.  I did notice a few(BG1 NPC, Coran) are available on G3 however they are exe's and not zip files.  Does anyone have these by chance or know how I could retrieve them?

The following mod(s) could not be downloaded:
Coran's BG Extended Friendship Talks: The Mod itself (CoranBGFriend-latest.zip)

Au service d'Oghma: The Mod itself (ThOghma_v1.6.zip)

I couldn't edit my previous post but I wanted to say I did find a zip version of BG1NPC off of Github and forced that version in the installation.  I ran the full tactics installation and it went fairly smooth with only a few mods that didn't install probably due to overlap with other mods.  The other four I couldn't download don't seem to be too essential so not worried about them.

Quick question, I noticed that Neverending Journey and Tortured Souls aren't included in the tactics install.  Were these moved to expert?

They were kinda removed from the stable install as there's not enough people to detect all the things that need fixing and to fix them to be fully compatible with everything else, it's not their own fault ... and the mods have been updated a few times so ... it's easier to not include them to the compilation.

Hello, Alien.

I have a few problems with BWS that i would like to solve.

1) During installation one of the mods(Auror Ranger Class Kit for BGII - ToB: v4.03) ask if i "really" want to install webeast kit since i need "Infinity core animations" for it later, and it wont continue until i choose so manualy, which is annoying, since i wanted automatic install of all components and simply left it for the night to run.

2) Since i don't remember if i choose Infinity animations at all - then i exit instalation and try to see which mods did i choose.

When i start BWS again - it will not continue previous installation but rather start anew. How can i fix that?

3) When i choose "Your latest selection" and "choose mods and components" - it will not load "my" latest selection but rather a "default" one - which is annoying when you try to install several times.

4) One bug i found while i was playing around with mods and components.

If you choose all mods and try to solve all problems - then after n times you will see that your list become empty before you solved them all.

My guess is that it is cause by checks after you remove components - so in the end it will simply overflow.

Can you change dependency check to button "continue" - so i would work on all ploblems first without any checks and interruptions and then i click "continue" and script will run to see if i have any problems left. Thanks.

Well, actually i want to solve problem 2 most and the rest are just some improvement suggestions, so don't mind them that much. Thanks you again for your work.

P.S. Don't listen to The Imp - it is voice of the Devil.

Hello everyone

I was trying to install BG2 EE mods via The Big World Setup and I came across a problem. I had no problem installing BG1EE mods yesterday and it all worked smoothly but I am not able to get it to start with this one.

I will tell you the steps I did:
-Install BG2 EE (not in C drive, in E:\Games
-Open game, save file - never asked to choose language or couldn't find location where language option available (although in language folder in game directory all I see is English)
-open The Big World Setup
-Choose 'Baldur's Gate II: EE / Enhanced Edition Trilogy
-Select E:\Games\Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Editionis
-Select Downloads in E:\Big World Setup folder
-Customization: EN
-BWS "MAXIMISED" (I exclude Aran Whitehead, Ascension, Item revision, skip chateau, spell revision and multiclass multikit because of the recommendation)
-Independent Installation assistant (Made in E:\Games\BG2EE Mod
-Test availability of mods
-test present mods
-continue
--On installation screen:
-Press continue

---This is where the error comes up (when I installed BG1EE at this point it installed everything seamlessly after a few hours but here I get this message:)

"Please start the game, choose the language you like, start and create a save game"

When I press continue it exits the installer.

The only thing that I didn't do, which I wasn't able to do, is choose the language I like, and for the life of me I can't find that option anywhere in BG2EE (is there a special button or something really obvious that I am missing?). Is there any way to bypass this setting, or make The Big World Setup think that I have already selected a language. Not sure what else it could be?

Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

edit: I want to add that I also installed IWDEE and had no problems via the BWS. So BG1EE and IWD1EE worked with no problem and I didn't have to choose a language for either of them but BG2EE I am having issues with.

@NewbieGrunt Which version of BG2:EE do you have? It should be 2.3.xx

I actually thought I did everything right, except probably the most important thing! Thank you for that, I have the latest version now and I could see the language option and the installation went perfectly!

Thank you again!

Since I first discovered BWS I've frequently encountered a show-stopping bug.  It doesn't matter whether I'm using a GoG or non-GoG game install or whether I go with a pre-set list of mods or a customized one: I'll get to the screen that says, "All steps to launch the installation are done" and all three buttons will be greyed out.  (I've confirmed their inactive.)  The bug occurs on roughly one out of three attempted BWS installations and the only option is a Windows "end task", even though BWS is still shown as being responsive.  Game installs: BGEE 2.x and SoD, both the GoG and Beamdog versions.  GoG copy is modmerged.

I'm enclosing two logs while I'm looking at the screen with greyed-out buttons.  Its not letting me attach the install log so I'll paste that one:

WeiDU.exe "Setup-WeiDU.tp2" --game "." --language 0 --force-install-list 0  --log "Setup-WeiDU.Debug"

@psycros The  window which you talk about should have "Continue" button. If it's missing, its probably Au3/Forms quirk.

That's my assumption as well.  But its a bloody annoying bug when you're trying over and over to get mods to install properly.

I actually have another recurring problem that's even more serious.  Thankfully it's rare and only seems to happen right after I do a fresh install of the GoG copy of BGEE.  BWS will simply fail to acknowledge that I've used MODMERGE on my GoG installation and therefore won't process it.  I can't even fathom what causes this because its intermittent and presumably relies on files and folders being in a particular structure.  I actually suspect Modmerge is part of the problem because sometimes it will run very fast and other times it chews on my BGEE folder for a good 45 seconds.  Every time I get this message from BWS about the GoG install not being properly prepared, Modmerge has done the two second flyby.  But one of the Beamdog devs actually maintains Modmerge so its hard to believe that its the only cause of the bug.  (Yes, I know I only need to modmerge right after installing the game.)

Also, I just encountered a new bug that's almost certainly a BWS issue.  During install I got this: "Pale Master cannot be installed with Tome & Blood", etc.  It had the usual ©ontinue or (E)xit options.  I kept hitting C and it just kept repeating the "C or E" prompt.  Then I hit E and the install continued, as if the two options had been transposed somehow.  Surely that's not an Autoit bug, unless the version BWS relies on is very flaky.

More on those last two errors..

I did another folder restore and tried the same mod selection again (its based heavily on the Tactical pre-set with a few additions and deletions).  Here is exactly what the log was showing when the error occurred:

Copying and patching 1 file ...

[.\lang\en_us\dialog.tlk] created, 123724 string entries

SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED      Evermemory Fix for BG:EE

C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition>

This component can not be installed with Tome and Blood.
Pale Master Kit (Tome Not Installed) (Pale Master Kit for Sorcerers) was skipped.

If a component was skipped during the install, this indicates a conflict or dependency that's still missing in the BWS. Either a similar component is already installed and thus this message is harmless, or the component depends on a mod that's missing. If you don't want to continue after your analysis, you can stop the BiG World
Setup now and resume from this point later.
Enter [c]ontinue or [e].

This time the C and E worked properly, so that issue appears to be intermittent.  What didn't really click for me earlier is what appears to be an incompatibility between Pale Master and Tome and Blood.  The conflict displays only during the installation phase - there are no prior warnings about it.

Here's another error that screams "typo":

Automatically Skipping [Helmets for Shapeshifters Bug Fix] because of error.

NOT INSTALLED DUE TO ERRORS Helmets for Shapeshifters Bug Fix

C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition>

ERROR: cannot convert Baldur.exe or %Baldur.exe% to an integer
ERROR: Not_found
Patch helmets so they cannot be worn by Shapeshifters (Difficulty and Tweak mod) was not installed due to errors.

You can try to repair the problem and start the installation of the component again. In this case please select "retry" after the repair.

If you don't want to spent time for that now, you can also continue without the component or exit the program. The BiG World Setup will continue with the installation of that component.
Enter [r]etry, [c]ontinue or [e]xit.

Then there's this, which I always get if I try to use SCS:

NOT INSTALLED DUE TO ERRORS Initialise mod (all other components require this)

C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition>

ERROR: illegal 96-byte read from offset 1920 of 1844-byte file BPAPPLE.CRE

ERROR: Failure("BPAPPLE.CRE: read out of bounds")
Initialise mod (all other components require this) (Sword Coast Stratagems) was not installed due to errors.

It also gives me an error about not having SCS component 1000 installed even though I do.

This is from my latest run. I did whatever it took to get past the error including the usual SCS mega-fail. Continue, Install - I was hitting anything but Exit. I fully expected the screen with three buttons to all be greyed out, but it wasn't! I actually completed an install for a change. I think that's maybe the fourth time I've managed to finish, ever. Thank you so much for taking a look at these files :)

Tried an experiment. I reinstalled the Steam release of BGEE, ran modmerge and pointed the latest BWS at it.  I saw less errors overall than with the GoG + modmerge version of BGEE.  Not only that, SCS installed with no errors at all.  That has never happened before.  I might have to obtain a Beamdog copy somehow so I can test all three variants.  My initial assumption is that either modmerge or BWS aren't taking something about the GoG version of BGEE into account, resulting in consistent failure with SCS and a few other mods.  Just one example: when I run BWS with GoG BGEE, I will get the "you need SCS component 1000" error even when I don't have any part of the mod installed (love that jump feature, btw!)

Sidenote: I wish this forum wouldn't delete my previous uploads as soon as I post new ones :(
