I get the message Your Game Failed to Save, Do you Wish to Quit?  whenever I quick save or regular save.  Any way to prevent this?

Is there a way to check where the install thinks saves are located?

Well, remove the folder option of hiding folders and add the option to searching through hidden folders and then search for the number 000000007 in Windows, that's part of the name of the first save folder your game will make.

OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

There's definitely a save folder there.  Now, those are remnants of what used to be there from my previous instance which I replaced with this one.  Do you think because I re-used this folder that the save path isn't correct?  Are there still some more files that I should have?

Is there a way I can keep all my install stuff and still be fine?  My regular BG2 game works and saves fine.  Could I just copy all my mods and files over there and have the game work?  Is there something I can try to fix this game not saving properly without having to reinstall my super install completely?

I opened up my Regular BG2 install and noticed this:

Not much there, but when I open it up ingame:

Now, this is a multiplayer game.  For Single Player I will test this as well:

mFYBhwF.png

We check our folder and we see:

PrUTpxU.png

So, where in the world are these multiplayer saves being stored?

I still don't get how BG2 stores its saves and if there's a way to fix my problem.  Seeing at the lack or response, I guess people aren't having this issue eh?  It's weird cause I installed NeJ3.70 for testing and the modding worked (saves too), except that the dialog.tlk didn't copy correctly there.  I may be looking at fresh installs all around if this can't be figured out.

Well, there's an mpsave folder.  That's where they go, but this still doesn't explain why I can't save my SP games in this megamod install.

An interesting note, a save that was successful looks like this:

My saves that failed look like this:

PXBLaIV.png

For some reason, the .GAM, .SAV, and .WMP are failing to be created.

What do you mean?  What do I need to do?  Copy the CD Data into my Instance Folder and reference it?

Yes.

I changed it to:

HD0:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\
CD1:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\
CD2:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\
CD3:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\
CD4:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\
CD5:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\
CD6:=C:\Games\BG2\BGT Super Instance\data\

No luck.  Same error.

I may just have to reinstall everything.  Maybe that will work.

THe Baldurs-gate.edu says that Worgas is incompatible with MP.  I'm curious if this mod or anything else has an effect.

I reinstalled this today and I get the same error.  I'm really bummed and disappointed.  I wanted to enjoy this super install so much!  I really wanted to take advantage of all the work people did on making these setups work.  I turned off my internet and my virus protection as instructed and had it happened again.  Super bummed.

Any suggestions on what mods might be preventing me from saving properly and what I should start removing?Attached File  WeiDU.log   147.55K   152 downloads

Not sure if will make any difference, but in Windows 7 I think you're supposed to run a BWS game in XP Service Pack 2 mode (versus SP3 mode).

Thanks for your suggestion.  I just tried It and unfortunately it does not solve my problem.  I found a new bug though.  The Pack mule has problems:
