This mod started as a request (by me) in the Cleric Remix workroom for Anomen to be awarded a Priest of Helm kit upon passing his knighthood test. Deciding this was outside Remix's remit I quickly spun it off into its own mod. Perhaps too quickly. A couple of days later I thought that the mod could be bigger and the NPC Kit Pack was born. Designed simply to give those NPCs without kits the chance improve their lot. Originally I had only planned on giving each NPC one of the original BioWare kits. This, however, turned out not to be feasable. This mod will add four new kits and provide the opportunity to give a kit to eight of the BioWare NPCs.

Contents of the mod:
  • Anomen will gain the Priest of Helm kit on passing his knighthood test.
  • Anomen will gain the Berserker kit on failing his knighthood test.
  • Chaotic Neutral Anomen will not get a Holy Symbol.
  • Edwin's kit title and description to be changed to Red Wizard (Conjurer).
  • Imoen & Nalia get an Adventurer kit and/or specialist mage kit.
  • Korgan gets a proper Battlerager kit as is fitting for a berserker dwarf.
  • Mazzy gets a proper Truesword of Arvoreen kit, instead of the psuedo kit she has now.
  • Minsc's kit title to be changed to Rashemaar Ranger.
  • Sarevok gets a proper Deathbringer kit, instead of the one ability he has now.
You can read more about this mod, including the descriptions of the new kits "here."

The mod is available for download at the Gibberlings Three downloads page.

The support forum can be found at the Gibberlings Three Forums, on the Miscellaneous Released Mods board.

Regarding Edwin.....

If the 2 extra spells per level are now supposed to be granted by his kit, that means his Amulet is nonmagical.

If his Amulet is nonmagical, that means he can wear another Amulet around his neck at the same time.

If he can wear another Amulet around his neck at the same time, HOOOO BOY!

Regarding Minsc.....

As a tweak, could Boo be moved to his Backpack, to allow Minsc to use all 3 of his Quickslots?

Sorry, I just gave a reason for Edwin's extra spells his amulet is still unmovable.

However, igi pointed out to me where this was controlled in BGMain.exe so I could code up something to deal with Edwin's Amulet and Boo. A definate "use at your own risk" mod, as it would involve hacking the exe.

Rashemaar Ranger

According to SarahJ (long ago) the proper ajective is Rashemi. I have never checked it. Is Rashemaar as a nationality name mentioned in any source?

Yep. Warriors and Priests of the Realms, in the Warriors of the Unapproachable East section. Here is a representative paragraph:

Rashemen
The warriors of Rashemen are not often encountered outside their lands. When they are, it is usually because they are on a dajemma, which is a journey to manhood that every male Rashemen native makes. Whether they are male or female, Rashemaar warriors are a fearless breed, who fight with a savagery and stamina not easily matched. They are hardy brawlers, who enjoy a good strong drink, a bawdy story, making new friends, and topping the evening off with a good oldfashioned tavern brawl.

I can dig out the rest if you'd like.

SVGames has it available for download for about $5, along with a lot of other stuff.

Thank you, I think Rashemi sound better, but if I won't find official confirmation of its useage, I'll have it revised to Rashemaar

Don't do that yet. This is an except from the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting:

The key ritual for young men in Rashemen is the dajemma, a journey to manhood that every male Rashemi makes in his youth. The dajemma often has some far-flung goal, such as an expedition around the Inner Sea itself, but if the youth returns home, he is accorded great honors, considered an adult, given the rights of a warrior of the Rashemi. The dajemma is a perilous undertaking, but has the advantage of showing the young males of Rashemen the nature of the world outside, so that the Rashemi have an understanding far beyond that of normal rustic cowherds. These continual dajemmas have the additional advantage of strengthening trade contacts with the West, and picking up useful information about the nations of the Inner Sea, in particular military information. At the same age, young females are tested by the Witches, and those who qualify are inducted into their organization.

It appears both are correct.

According to Spellbound, Rashemi is the name given to the race of people, while Rashemaar is the name those Rashemi living in Rashemen use for themselves. There are Rashemi who inhabit certain other countries (e.g. Thay), but Rashemaar only applies to those who're born in Rashemen itself.

Rashemaar generally look down on other Rashemi, especially those in the servitude of the Red Wizards; Rashemen-born Rashemaar see Thay-born Rashemi as being weak and cowardly for not fighting against their oppressors.

If I did, I wouldn't make it part of the Kit Pack.

Sorry, I just gave a reason for Edwin's extra spells his amulet is still unmovable.

Well then, to justify not being able to wear a 2nd Amulet on top of it, I think his memento of Thay should have some additional minor enchantment(s), such as being immune to modesty, charity and critical thinking. Or perhaps the lesser aspects of the Amulet of Power, such as NPP and immunity to Silence.
