after rescuing tashi from the cave, i've had huge problems getting her to move. tashia and viconia lag behind the main group and i hav to click many many times for the two of them to move.
and sometimes, they fall behind so bad that instead of five markers (for the five people in my party) i am left with three -

what's happenin? i seem have read about this problem before but can't remember how to solve it.

can anyone help?

Just came here to post about the same thing. I tried speaking with Tashia (any of the fixme dialogues), saving, resting, quitting, etc., but in all cases, she continues to stop after taking a few steps.

It sounds like Tashia is trying to start a conversation with Viconia but she is not finding the correct banter, so they're stalling. Try kicking Viccy out then having her rejoin, that might fix the problem. You can also try hitting ctrl I to force a conversation so it should pass the conversation that they are trying to have. If that doesn't work, you probably have to reinstall Tashia. I'm not sure why they're not having their conversation though... hmm. Perhaps Arian will know. You have the latest version of Tashia I assume? What about the ToB patch? And Baldurdash?

Thanks for the reply...

I actually don't even have Viconia in my party, and Tashia is the only person experiencing A.D.D. with her pathfinding so I don't think she's trying to speak to any of them. I have the latest Tashia/TOB/Baldurdash patches, etc.

I'll try the Ctrl-I suggestion, and also check to see if my computer decided to start working properly again on its own overnight. B)

Thanks,

Well she could be trying to make a comment to anyone or about anything and not finding it. Doesn't have to be a groupmember ;) But the person who had both Viconia and Tashia stopping like that, it probably was between those two.

thanks, Lucythebeast. i shall try kicking viconia out or ctrl 1 -- though i've never used this command before -- what does it do? (i am not using any cheats at the moment, except removing the experience cap and a fix to keep all party members happy irrespective of alignment).
and yes, i have the latest patches.

thanks again

That's "Ctrl i" not "Ctrl 1".

"Ctrl i" is used to force non-romance related dialogue. Each time you use it you will see a code like "SQURLT01" in your text box and there is a chance that one of your NPCs will start talking. If you use this mulitple times you can see all the dialogue in your party.

Well, the saga continues. ;) I tried Ctrl-I'ing my way past a few dialogues, zoned, rebooted, re-installed Tashia, etc., and nothing seems to work. At this point, I think I'm out of options, other than to uninstall BG2, and re-install everything.

Thanks for the help, regardless. :)

This is a common BG2 bug. I had it in the original game with CN Anomen and Aerie. The ONLY thing I've seen to change it is reloading... and even then, things continued to screw up until I set a variable to tell the engine that the dialogue had already played.

Make sure you have official Throne of Bhaal patch installed. It fixes a lot of issues like this.

I do have the patch installed. For the heck of it, I went back and uninstalled BG2 yesterday, keeping my save game but wiping out everything else, and re-installed it, ToB, Baldurdash fixes, etc. I then loaded an earlier game, prior to saving Tashia, and re-did the encounter. Unfortunately, as soon as she rejoined my party, her ability to take more than a few steps at a time went away. If I remove her from my party, she has no difficulty navigating to the party leader, but as long as she is in my party, she won't walk.

At this point, I'm unfortunately giving up. I'll try again at some point. I do want to say thanks to those who made Tashia possible in the first place, as she was an enjoyable addition to the game. And thanks to all of you for answering my questions.

It would be easier if you sent me your saved game prior to the bug, so I could run it on my PC and figure out what's happening. Use sentinelsx@yahoo.com email, and zip the saved game before sending it (it comes as a bunch of files in a folder).

TOB has done this often to me as well, and it doesn't always seem to be at the time of a dialog. What I have done to relieve this is to re-install the TOB patch (of course once you do that, you have to replace anything you have installed that the patch overwrites). The Jaheira romance is often the one that seems to instigate the drag for me... and any charactor that I have an active romance with seems to darg as well.
