Ok I have a crazy insane idea that would probably never be made true. Have a Jimi Hendrix NPC for mayber Baldurs Gate 2 but not necescairly with custom avatar, traditional portrait, custom animations, custom weapon, custom armor, new custom bard Kit, maybe some new spell animations. I think it would be damn awesome if there was a Jimi Hendrix NPC. I mean he could fit in pretty well. we would be a bard of course but a special bard some new kit that i have yet to think of a name for or most of the advantage disadvantage thngs. Probably along the line of new special abilities such as distortion blast, feedback hit, and maybe some voodoo stuff. To make him really cool have his bard song be offensive/defensife like it either confuses, frightens, feebleminds, or disorients enemies in some way an offers some bonuses to the party. Custom weapon of an electric guitar that has built in amps and is powered by a direct link to the elemental plane where electricity comes from. Also could make the item a ranged/melee weapon and have so that it shoots some sort of sonic waves in ranged mode or the player could use weapon abilities feature (such as changing arrows) to make it melee. Maybe have the weapon upgrade every so often. of course this would require new animations. Have some Hendrix-sque clothing that acts like armor only for him but could wear other armor allowed by bards but appriate appearance changes should be made. yeah if possible maybe have someone impersonate his voice for banters and what not. So is there anyone crazy enough, brave enoug, modder enough to take on this idea. You can contact me at Crazyhybrid9999@yahoo.com have Hendrix NPC in title.

Rock Star
These musicians have given themselves entirely to rock and roll. And sometimes money. Many are rarely themselves and often they are intoxicated in more ways than one.

Advantages
+2 bonus to charisma
Can Cast Purple Haze once/day Confuses all ennemies within sight unless save vs. breath
Can used Dazed and Confused* once/day -ROck Star becomes confused and casts spells at random targets, but gains +(character level) in damage to spells and + 1/3 character level in spell durations.
Song is Replaced with Guitar riff- allies get +1 to morale, ennemies are deafened, recieves a -2 on all attack rolls
Can cast 1 extra spell per level
Disadvantages
Constant substance abuse makes these fellows less hardy than avergae and they recieve a -2 penalty to constitution.
Said abuse also tend to addle their judgement and minds and they recieve -1 to intelligence and wisdom.
EDIT: *I am a devoted Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix fan and I am aware that his song isn't by Hendrix, but this kit is a rock star kit, not just Jimmi Hendrix

Can cast 1 extra spell per level

Only as a little bit of information, in case someone actually would do this mod:

That's extremely hardcoded. I'd find something else instead.

Great kit, btw.

I think he means (if anything) that it can't easily be done by scripting. What you could do is disallow the kit to use a type of item, but make sure on creation a paperdoll and bam-free item is created in that slot, doing the spell slots by effects.

You can create an item that increases the amount of spells, sure, no problem, but not let the actual kit have less or more spells than the original class. I believe that CamDawg and a couple of others are working on it, but I'm not sure how their progress are...

or simply create an undroppable item with no animation.

Disallowing custommade kits from using diffrent items is also extremely difficult. An item in BGII has 32 (I think it's 32) itemflags, and they are all taken by the kits that already exists. You'll need to find a kit in the game that allows/disallows the item you want. This is also due to the hard-coded engine of BGII.

One way to do it is with an inate sell that adds or reduces the number of memorizeable spells, set to permanent after death and cast on level up. I made a custom spell and an item that did something similar. You'd still run into some problems when dealing with Beholders, CTRL+R and a few other effects.

Yes, Ctrl+R wouldn't work. It's a great alternative, though, if you don't want to spare an item-slot.

One extra spell per level is entirely possible. In fact, I have a bard kit in a released mod which has this very thing. See here for a download link.

You know something just really bothers me about having some beserked/confused bard casting random spells at random targets. Does anyone else get a shiver down their back.
