In Topic: what's up with the Invisible stalkers?!

Anyway, does anyone remember the name of the mage who attacks the party upon returning to Nashkill from the mines? I am trying to find him from the list of hundreds of names with no success.

Can you give us more information about him, like where he attacks you, what he says, was he one of the assassins, etc.

Here are some more informations about invísible stalkers.

Greetings Leomar

Well, he attacks me right outside of the Inn in Nashkill. He is one of the assassins and has a letter on him stating that he is hired to kill me. He only appears upon returning from the mines after the iron ore quest.

Ok thanks! Can you use near infinity and open up the CRE file for the mage guy that supposedly spawns those stalkers and check out his scripts? They may say something like BPMAG.BCS or ZHELTEN.BCS.

Also you may need shadowkeeper to find the exact creature file name.

We will if we can spot what is causing this. Also where else does this happen in your game?

Sorry for the delay Hoppy, work has been keeping me busy and not allowing time for fighting the denizens of evil (or good if you prefer...) Damn 22 hour shifts. -_-

I don't really want to start another game to learn the name. I will also be more diligent in continuing my current game for more occurances. I know that I have had at least 8 times that the stalkers have appeared.

Can anyone with this issue post a screen shot and upload into a post? Preferably one with the cursor over a creature where the tooltip (scroll with creatures' name) becomes visible.

Press the prt scrn key on keyboard to the right of the F12 key and a folder is created in BGII - SoA directory called ScrnShot with a Bitmap of the screen in game.

Sure thing Hoppy. I have a screen shot of my Nashkel stalkers that appeared after I cleared out the mines and fought the assassin (name?). I have now gone to Candlekeep and back and they are still there. They don't seem to have any time limit.

I did have the cursor over it but it didn't come through on the screen shot. It did say "Invisible Stalker", "uninjured". I tried twice :(

Hope this helps.

My guess is that it is a spell the enemy mages are casting. Replay the fights and note what spell they cast that summon the stalkers. Use shadowkeeper to create some Invisible stalker spells and see if they summon correctly as allies for the party.

When you find the spell the enemies use or how it is done, look it up in Near Infinity and under effects the spawns will be shown. It could be a tweaked spell but the spawns come up as ally not enemy.

Or one other thing I thought of is you said something of birds being unsummoned. What if squirrel and rabbit creature files have been mutated into stalker allies?
:o

Ok, I will try that out and get back to everyone. Thanks for the assistance!

Or use the attached file. Unpack it in your BG2 main directory and start it. After a few seconds the DOS-Window will close and you find a changelog.txt in your BG2 main directory. Post the content here.

Greetings Leomar

Ok Leomar, I have attached said file. Thanks for the BAT file.
