I regret that my first post here is about a BGT bug and not a proper introduction. Let me just say I think what this modding community is doing here is awesome; thank you for rekindling my love for these great games.
That aside, here's my issue:
This is my first time using mods with BG. As such, I decided to use only the BGT 1.08 and widescreen mods to keep things simple. The game runs smoothly and looks great, but I've had to "juke" the game into progressing through the main story using the CLUAConsole -- something I only just learned how to do. For this game, I'm running through as a lone Swashbuckler. Here's how the problems progressed:
It started when I collected my reward for clearing the Nashkel Mines, though I didn't notice it until later that Nimbul never spawned to try to kill me. Later on, Officer Vai and Tranzig both never spawned in Beregost and the bandit groups in Peldvale and Larswood both denied my attempt to join the bandits -- the Bandit Camp never showed up on my worldmap. I wandered around a bit trying to think of what I might have skipped, read through a bunch of walkthroughs, made sure I read all the letters on assassins, in Mulahey's area in the Mines and such . . . eventually I just forced Tranzig to spawn using the CLUAConsole and talking to/killing him opened up the Bandit Camp for me. Off I went to mess them up.
Being a thief, I was able to slip past all the bandits, make for the most important looking building (Tazok's Tent) and dispose of their leadership with some well placed snares and fiery oil potions. I spoke with Ender Sai, read both letters from Davaeron in the chest and . . . I'm still in Chapter 3. Doesn't one of the letters trigger Chapter 4? At any rate, all signs point to Cloakwood, but it won't show up on my worldmap and I've tried to approach it from every direction.
Further complication: I'm able to MoveToArea("AR7000") to get to Cloakwood just fine and seem to be able to progress normally from there, but I'm still in Chapter 3 and I still only have one Bhaal Spawn power from the "prophetic dreams." I've attempted to skip to chapter 4 using CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys() and Ctrl+c, but doing so (and this seems very odd) only triggers an epilogue text about how Nalia (from BG2??) earns her way into the Amnish Council of Six. Does my game think it's in the final chapter of BG2?
That's my problem. I guess my question is, am I skipping something in game or is this a bug? In either case, how do I get around it without missing out on the dream sequences?
EDIT: In case it's useful info, I installed BGT first and Widescreen second. Also, I made sure to enter Debug Mode=1 into the BG2 baldur.ini file and I did this right before forcing Tranzig to spawn well after killing Mulahey. Perhaps I should have installed the mods in the opposite order? Should I have messed with the ini file before installing BGT? Not sure if any of this could have caused bugginess.
EDIT2: Oh yeah. This:
