I've found that on Vista or Windows 7 the BGT Install will not work if you have installed you BG games to 'program files'. If you run either of these OS, I highly recommend installing your games somewhere else (eg, My document. I have mine installed on portable HD)

It works for me in my program files (x86) directory on my g: drive just fine.

installed tbp, originally I just installed it to play it as BGT, but later on after a few games starting in candlekeep and ending with melissan's demise, I decided to install a few more mods.  Went through the expert install in tbp, followed all the prompts, etc etc etc.  after many many hours everything seemed installed correctly, but I couldn't view the initialization screen after clicking baldur.exe.  I reinstalled the widescreen mod, and now BG won't play at all and I get an error message that told me to post the log file here.  Anybody have any ideas?

I'm not 100% sure they'll talk on their blog about a game that's not currently available on Steam (and is available on GOG), but I think I'll submit this once I make nine soundsets (sometimes in 2014 given how fast I usually work).

you're in luck then b/c bg/bg2 are now available on steam!

Eh, don't bother attaching it; just open it with a text editor (Notepad or whatever) and copy and paste the contents here.

this is weird, I went to the other room for a minute and left the screen on, when I walked back my party was ambushed by renal bloodscalp's thieves and bg2 started up just fine. I'll still post the .err info tonight when I get home, however.

Post the assertion error from your Baldur.err text file if there is one, or from TobEx.log if you've got that.

I couldn't view teh baldur.err text file but here is the actual file. oops, it won't let me upload "that kind of file".
