Color me interested. Just dropping in to say hello, SConrad and all, and to again note my interest in helping out with the writing.

As a balance standpoint, I strongly suggest against "locking" one of the scimitars into his hands, even the off-hand. Despite the prevalence of Protection v. Magical Weapons later in the game, the fact is that sticking our boy Khadion with a non-removable non-magical weapon for the entirety of the game is going to make him a fairly weak candidate for fighting late in the game, particularly if you're not using any thief-adjustment mods. Make it removable, but no drop and escalate the bonuses and he'll use it most of the time anyway. But locking it doesn't seem to make sense from a story perspective and will make him a disadvantageous pick for the strategic player to boot.
