In Topic: Megamod Video Tutorial. Using BWS.

19 July 2014 - 02:56 PM

Thanks for your responses. I have been so full of work that I have little time to spare on this. However I will make a better version of the tutorial, that is one of the reasons I posted it here in the first place.

I have never had an issue with the "games" folder for installation, but I remember once I installed the BWS in C:\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate 2 and I got hundreds of errors. Searching the web I stumbled upon a post with the answer. The folder had to be called exactly "BGII - SoA". However I must say that I was using a much older version and the spanish version for the mods, and I supposed that was not to be a problem, but it turned out it was (back then at least, so I will try with the current version).

Alien: It is a nice idea to split it in several parts so I will do it for the corrected version. The settings can be saved customizing them before making the backup, so I will mention it also.

Imp: I don't have an English version of windows, but I can tell you that "saved games" and "juegos guardados" is the SAME folder in my computer. This sounds a little strange, but the programs take it a synonyms, as well as it does for "Program Files" and "Archivos de Programa" in unmarked and (x86) versions respectively.

I have learned from trial and error that it is not exactly necessary to start the new game and make a new save before the BWS, though I understand that it is good practice to do so. Also I will install the widescreen mod next (the sample in the video does not have it installed).

Thanks for the corrections I will include the folders and your recommendations for the corrected version of this tutorial, coming soon :P

I will do those videos hopefully next week. I just jumped to make it as soon as I saw nobody had uploaded a visual tutorial of this, but now I think I should do a bit more of reading.
