Knocking unconscious

28 June 2005 - 05:22 PM

The idea simply put,  when any character (PC or NPC, with some exceptions) gets below 25% health they fall unconscious. This could be the same point low health scripts (where npc say things concerning injured comrades) kicks in, making for a much more dramatic effect.

Undead, trolls and a number of others would be immune to it. Raging units could be immunity to it (but lose the temp bonus to health they get)

The more ways to deal with a situation other then killing, the more roleplaying involved. If I can knock a npc out rather then killing it (or ignoring it as it attacks me which is really silly of course) then that gives me another tool to deal with a situation and mod story tellers another option at their disposal.

What would be really nifty if we could add add a "subdermal damage" system (d&d 3) as well but that might not be doable.

Boo as a familar

Looking through the mods I noticed one that allowed you to have boo as a npc. Could it be treated more as a familiar? As in able to go back into his pocket?

Instead of being powerful, it could simply be hard to detect hidden character. Useful for scouting out an area. Even able to go through doors? (by going under them) But also easily killed (minc could get REALLY pissed if you got his best friend killed). Just some thoughts. :)

BGT by itsef?

28 June 2005 - 02:40 AM

BGT isn't supported by itself anymore? In its current form is BGT compatible with things like the virtue scripts?

Incompatibilities like (virtue is the biggest one for me) that make me highly resistant to using BP. Which parts of BP cause these incompatibilities anyways? Is it possible to selectively install parts of BP so I can be compatible? Might you guys make big picture compatible with more BG mods in the future?

How does BGT compare to tutu as far as bugs and fluid gameplay go?

Looking for a mod to fix quick weapons

28 June 2005 - 02:32 AM

I want something that fixes a problem with switching weapon types and duel weapon or shield.

Seems you can't mix duel weapons or weapon/shield combos with two handed items. Like if I want to switch minsc from a long bow or two handed sword to two maces, I can't, I have to manually go into inventory and move the items around. Its a real hassle when your doing this every battle or even twice a battle in some situations. To add to that theres having to switch to fire arrows to finish off trolls.

A mod that bypasses the two handed error so you can use the quick weapon function for all characters. So if you switch to a two handed item, the offhand shield/weapon is simply ignored (seems such a simply solution, doesn't it)

Or perhaps a mod that allows you to switch to a different equipment configuration at the push of a hot key?
