Hi all, just having some problems with my BP install and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same issues. After installing everything that the BP guide says to install (TDDv103full + 103-103A patch, soubar_v100 + soubar101patch, TSv50, TSv503, TSv504, TSv505 + TSvPatch and BPv161G_FULL) and playing for a few hours I have noticed some strange problems. Firstly my world map seems disjointed, areas are not placed where they are meant to be, and for some reason whenever I get the mesage "your world map has been updated" nothing seems to have happened. For example the paranoid salesman sells me the map, but I cannot see Purskel on my world map :wacko: . Has anyone else had these problems?? I've been looking foward to playing all of these mods in one game and I really want to get this to work so any help would be much appreciated!

Did you install the latest s&h patch? If not, go get it here.

Another note: What is TSvPatch? Don't know that file and I'm pretty sure you don't need it.

Yet another note: Want an even larger game? Try BP-BGT-NEJ ;)

Doh :huh: Well I only tried the 'full' game yet, but the patch 'should' work with any version... That message tells you that the patch wants to patch something (a creature file) that isn't there, unfortunately I do not know whether or not that file should be there with your install size in the first place and I am currently at work so I cannot check :(

If you want to be adventurous you can remove the offending copy command from the .tp2 file and try again.

Cool! I deleted the copy stuff from the .tp2 file and it installed the patch...but unfortunately this hasn't helped at all :( I don't know why I keep getting this problem, I've even installed BP on two different computers and the same problem keeps happening, map is still screwed and no appearance of Purskal when I buy the map from the paranoid salesman...(sigh) oh well looks like I can't play TBP after all.....

Concerning the paranoid salesman: I think there is a level requirement, saw this topic somewhere on the forums a few days ago...

* Edit * Found it: You can read about it here.

Concerning the map: This sounds like an old bug and it is definitely fixed in BP-BGT-NEJ. You only need three files for the worldmap (worldmap.wmp, worldmap.mos and BPBGTmap.bam) - if you still want to try you can fetch them from any of Sir BillyBobs mods (Bonehill, DSotSC, NTotSC) and throw them into your override folder. And be sure you start a new game, since the worldmap is part of your save game and changes to it will not affect already running games.

Otherwise: Be patient and check back now and then, a new version of BP is in the works and that one should be much simpler to install...

Hmm does the level check prevent him from selling the map to you? because he sold the map to me and it says "your world map has been updated" but then there is no purskal on my map...will getting those three files fix my purskal problem?

I am thinking that BP is a bit too buggy for me right now...I can see that WeiDu versions of TDD and TS have been released, do these work in conjunction with one another? Or do I still have to play them separately?

Thanks for your help yacomo! :)

Sorry, don't know how the level check works exactly, just remebered that I read a post about it...

After looking at my map files I'm pretty sure that your current problem is only related to the map. Please do me a favor and try to cheat yourself to Purskal (using CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("DD1900")), then have a look at your world map. If there is still no Purskal icon on it, then the Purskal entry is missing from your map. In that case fetching the map files from one of Sir BillyBob's mods will most definitly help.

In any case, please do not forget to start a new game when changing your worldmap files ;)

Concerning TDD and TS WeiDU: The posted versions do not work together 'as is'. There were some issues concerning the TS-installer if I remember correctly. However, Horred has posted an update on his Yahoo Site. While you are there, please also check for the TDD update.

<advertisement> You might also want to check out my map-mod when it's out (in about two to three weeks :ph34r:) </advertisement>

Ok that sounds promising (about the map thing) where can I get those map files from? do I have to download the mod? or is there a site that hosts them as separate files by any chance? I wonder why my map is so screwed...could it be that the files I downloaded didn't have some things in them that were supposed to be there? Hmmm I'll try teleporting to Purskal now...

I'm interested in this BP-BGT-NEJ thing now...I dont really know what its about but I'm guessing it combines all of the games into one huge game right? sounds sweet :)

Unfortunately there is no map-mod right now (but check my advertisement above B) ). So you would need to download one of Sir BillyBob's mods, I would suggest DSotSC15 for BP-BGT, since it is the smallest of the three.
Honestly I do not know, why your map is screwed, one possibility could be that it actually IS screwed in the last BP-package, but nobody noticed it since they all have BP-BGT-NEJ installed...

I teased you, heh? :whistling:

BP-BGT-NEJ combines the Big Picture Mod, thus TDD, SOS and TS, with the Baldur's Gate Trilogy Mod by Bardez and the Neverending Journey Mod by Vlad. The result is a mod that allows you to play through BGI and TotSC (thanks to BGT) then takes you to BGII, where you might visit the Spine of the World (thanks to NEJ) and offers trips through TDD, SOS and TS. Including Horred's great AI and lots of additional stuff...

Since you can never have enough, most people throw in some additional mods, most notably Sir BillyBob's BGI mods (Bonehill, DSotSC and NTotSC), CBisson's CtB and Dorotea's The Longer Road (for ToB). Finally, you spice it up with some smaller mods like Ease of Use :)

However I need to add the following as well:

<health warning>
Installation of BP-BGT can be frustrating at times. Download times might be very long. The installation itself is also a very long and error-prone procedure. You might find yourself banging your head against the wall once or twice...
</health warning>

But when its done - whoah :w00t:

If you want to try this adventure, don't hesitate to post any questions / problems here on the forums, no matter if they sound silly or not. From my experience, the people around here are a very friendly and helpful crowd :thumb:

Regarding world map, I suggest you also read the Guide to Worldmap Issues on the BP+BGT forum.

On the S&H Patch, not finding FINBODH.CRE in CHITIN.KEY, this is a problem that seems to happen when you uninstall and re-install BP-BGT-NeJ 313 PATCH, then the Patch again. The only thing I can suggest here is a full re-install of the entire thing.

Hmm its funny because I never installed the BP-BGT-NeJ 313 PATCH...and I've tried uninstalling everything including my BGII + TOB game files and then reinstalling and I'm still getting all the same problems... :(

I'd really like to try to do BP-BGT-NeJ but I dunno if its gonna work for me I seem to be cursed...

Hell, if you never install the 3.13 patch you've got all sorts of problems.
