I love drawing and I draw things that I love. So I'd love to draw Edwin, now. :D But the problem is.. what's his hair like? In both BG1 and BG2 portrait's he has his hood on, so I can't figure out what it's like, and I can't make up my mind on the matter either!

He's not bald, he said it already in one lovetalk. But is his hair long or short or something inbetween.. what do you think? Please feel free to post reference pictures, if you can find one that matches your view - it would probably help me make up my own mind and then draw him!

I have a few suggestions.

Wavy but not very long:

Combed back Phantom-style <3:
http://www.gerard-bu...p?image_id=8645

Or even shorter, still wavy:

I couldn't find any decent pictures of long hair on men at the moment, but long hair is a very good alternative, too, IMO.

So what do you think of Eddie's hair?

And, just out of curiosity, my dear, what *are* you wearing? :D - Tempest to me.

I've always had a hard time deciding this myself. By gut instinct, I'd say either pic 1 or pic 3, because I just can't see him with slicked back hair. :) Or long - not hugely hippie-style long though.

Would love to see your picture once it's done. :)

Aye, either 1 or 3 would do, I'd say.
Maybe he has a ponytail.... :unsure:

Er...don't mind me. I just like braiding...^^;
Perhaps add a hair flirt? Just suggesting! ^^;

Thanks guys, I agree with you: no slicked back hair for Eddie.

Perhaps add a hair flirt? Just suggesting! ^^;

Oooh absolutely! I hope we'll get some of that, too, when the flirts finally come out. :)

I made two quick scetches of Eddie to figure out what his hair should be like. I'll show them to you, too, because I still can't make up my mind! :huh:

With long hair aaaand with short hair.

I think both short and long are pretty damn good alternatives, but.. I think long hair is more Eddie, somehow..? I usually don't like long hair on men, but this time I think it's a wee bit better. Or what do you think?

Yes, I have always imagined Eddie with longer hair. After all, he is quite proud of it.

Long hair, I agree that it's somehow more *him*. :) Very nice sketches, btw.

Definately long hair like in the second drawing. Does seem very like him, being proud of his hair. Also, when you get a pic of his body after his abduction, his hair is a little long and seems to suit him.

I really like the longer hair one. Gives him a bit of pompousness, but definitely invites teasing/messing up. I'd love to see a hair flirt . . . maybe even one where you could joke around with Edwin and make him believe you want to cut some of HIS for a talisman of your own? ("Oh no . . . only a pound or so will do for the best magic. Don't you love me?")

I really like your sketches though, Ilmatar. I think you're really talented! :) I'd love if you finished a more detailed version and then allowed us to use it as an alternative portrait for him.

I like the idea of a hair flirt, I'll see what I can do about that. :) The idea of messing it up is very, very tempting. :D

Alright! :D That's what I'm talking about. So how are the flirts coming, btw? Not far from completion, I hope?

I just kicked Bodhi's ass for the final time and got to see Edwin's picture in his body's description, and as Minarvia said, it looked good. Even tough the man himself was dead. I really felt like crying my eyes off. The whole thing from the kidnapping to resurrection was wonderfully written - especially the journal parts. Thank you! :D

But back to the topic.. I've been scetching the portrait a bit, and I have a really good feeling about this. And yes, it's long hair! :D

Glad you liked the abduction. :) The Dead Edwin pic was courtesy of Ophidia, and I agree that it looks very good. As for the flirts, I've written a number, the problem is really deciding what number to stop at for now.

Can't wait for those flirts! :D I finished ToB, too. The ending was hilarious, Edwin was sweet, dialogue was ingenius (who ever wrote Dekaras's lines, MARRY ME, that's was bloody brilliant :D), and the whole thing was absolutely, undoubtetly the best - romance - ever. THANK YOU. And now because you, Laufey and the rest, enslaved me as an Edwin fangirl, I've been drawing all day.

Hee hee, I wrote Dekaras' lines of course - I wrote all the dialogues. :D Don't think you want to marry me though, seeing I'm another female. ;) Thank you for the kind words!

You've got a number of flirts, Laufey??? Give 'em already!!! Then you can still keep writing more and then we can just download the 'updated version' of his flirt pack, right? :D

Well, perhaps so. :) We'll see when the programmers have time to set them up - and I won't forget about the hair flirt, I promise!

To be honest, I like the shorter hair better. I think it makes him look slightly less "grown-up," and let's face it, Eddie really acts like a little boy sometimes, and it's adorable. Plus, of course, my own preference for short hair. I also like the way you've got it smushed up against the headband thing... all mussed and cute-like. D'awwww!

So, Laufey-- we gonna get a shave flirt for Eddie? :D I'd love to see him without his beard for once...

Call me silly, but I'd love to have a flirt, perhaps before he invites you into his bed for an erotic onslaught, where you ask him "So, who wears the pants in this relationship?" And he looks around like it's a big secret, and if no one is looking he lifts the hem of his robes just enough so that you can see that he's wearing traveling pants underneath them and then he makes some snarky comment. Hehehe. :wub:

... well, it amuses me, anyway.

So anyway. Love your drawings, Ilmater! Wish I could get the hang of drawing ol' Red.

A good point there. I personally prefer shorter hair myself, but for Edwin.. somehow it just seems easier to picture him with long hair. It was very, very difficult indeed to make up my mind on which style to use. :)

Haha! I bet the PC could TRY.. but I don't think Edwin would let her shave him. xD

It would amuse me too! :D You know, I've always imagined that he has to have a pair of pants under his robe - come on, he IS an adventurer, all that walking and fighting and sleeping outside..

But hey, thank you! Glad to hear you like my stuff. :)

Definitely no shaving of Edwin's beard, no way. ;) He'd never put up with it. I agree about pants, it's quite possible he wears them underneath the robe.

Yeah, I figured no shaving... it's too cute a beard, anyway. Although I think he'd still be handsome without it. :D

Indeed. I can't imagine it's very comfortable to jump around in the middle of a fight with no pants on... and although in this world it was actually a woman who invented pants, I think probably on Toril it's just as important to men to have them as on this planet.

I'll be watching the forum for further updates on the flirts AND the possibility of more of your art, Ilmater. Huzzah! ... heh.

I agree with the slightly longer haired Eddie. I am glad that a previous poster (I forgot who! oops) agreed with me that the longer hair in his 'corpse' pic looked good. A hair flirt is nice, but, Laufey, as you have written Eddie pretty much as I imagined for years him to be, I think you are right that he wouldn't allow a shave. I can't see him wanting that. He would feel...naked, I guess!
By the way, since I play BGII all the time and often play several games at once, I want to say that I finally have him and Viconia in the same party and really love the banter between him and Vic where she accuses him of using her to get the attention of the pc. Great stuff! Thanks! She stays in character with the Bioware portrayal of her and blends nicely with your stuff. Good job! :coolthumb: I hope there is more...even if not, thanks for the laugh!
Also, I have to say that I am not a person who reads EVERY single posting - but I was pleasantly surprised to hear you say that you are a female. I thought you were a guy! I'm so glad you are one of us ladies who love and have always loved Eddie and have finally given him the place he deserves as far as romance. You rock!!!
