I've just finished the BG1 portion of BGT :whistling: . Here's my WeiDU log.

I encountered the following bugs/problems :doh: :

1. Stores: The Candlekeep, Jovial Juggler and Thunderhammer Smithy have two or three slots for shields, not just one.
2. AR9200: Of the three sirines near 858, 3544, one does not become hostile (previously reported).
3. AR7600: Fenten does not buy ankheg shells.
4. AR7700: I found two of each item to create the Halruuan Skyship in Oberan's estate.
5. AR6526: All items from the Tutorial (AR0015) that can be found can be found again...
6. AR7607: After breaking out of the Flaming Fist prison I was unable to "find" the stairs to rescue Duke Eltan (I had to CLUA myself to AR7608).
7. Cythandria in the Iron Throne building only summons one ogre (Ughh) instead of two (where's Argh?).
8. Mendas (Selaad Gan) could only be hit by the Sword of Balderan and the Bastard Sword +1/+3 v. Shapeshifters. The Short Sword of Backstabbing, Martial Staff, Two Handed Sword +3 (all +3 to hit/damage) and the Flame Tongue (+4 to hit/damage) were ineffective.

Not bad. Only one was a game breaker... :cookie: :cheers:

6. AR7607: After breaking out of the Flaming Fist prison I was unable to "find" the stairs to rescue Duke Eltan (I had to CLUA myself to AR7608).

The stairs are at (908,547). You can't use them until you have had an audience with Duke Eltan in Chapter 6 (after talking to Scar outside Flaming First HQ). Once Scar takes you to Eltan in a cutscene, after this moment the stairs can be used. I just made a quick run-through in my chapter 6 savegame till the moment you describe in chapter 8 - no problem going up that stairs...

8. Mendas (Selaad Gan) could only be hit by the Sword of Balderan and the Bastard Sword +1/+3 v. Shapeshifters. The Short Sword of Backstabbing, Martial Staff, Two Handed Sword +3 (all +3 to hit/damage) and the Flame Tongue (+4 to hit/damage) were ineffective.


It was like that in original game. He can bit hit only by those two, and maybe also by silver dagger (forgot exact item name) which you find on werewolf island. Blame Bioware designers for that. ;)

I don't understand this one.

In 1.00, you actually have to get the quest from Fenten, then go to Gerde, then go back to Fenten. Anyway, I botched up the dialogue anyway, so I've fixed it now.

4. AR7700: I found two of each item to create the Halruuan Skyship in Oberan's estate.

Fixed.

5. AR6526: All items from the Tutorial (AR0015) that can be found can be found again...

This is because a new area is used. It would be too difficult to check every time that you picked up.

7. Cythandria in the Iron Throne building only summons one ogre (Ughh) instead of two (where's Argh?).

This was due to a missing CRE.

Thanks for replying, Ascension. Glad to have been of help.

I'm going to set up another install of BGT, vanilla this time, and see if I get the same thing with the shields. I don't know if something added to the current install added the extra shield slots to the stated stores or if there is another problem. All I know is that the shield slots in the stated stores had different colors, though the same image. Strange... :wacko:

Any idea if one of the items installed may have bugged the Iron Throne in chapter 8? I do know that in chapter 6 my meeting with Duke Eltan was not by the stairs. I got there by a jump cut... :blink:

Think you might consider a tweak to make Mendas/Selaad Gan vulnerable to the stated +3 and +4 weapons? :whistling:

I finished a quick run through my vanilla BGT install last night (only the Baldurdash fixes are installed).

The Candlekeep, Jovial Juggler and Thunderhammer Smithy still have multiple entries for the non-magic shields - three each to be precise. I checked the Taerom.sto in NI and it also shows multiple entries for them.

As for rescuing Duke Eltan, no problems this time. I begin to wonder if maybe the dialog with him in Chapter 6 had something to do with it. In my tweaked game I don't recall two conversations with him, and if it did I didn't leave the upper rooms but immediately started the second conversation. In the vanilla install I left the chambers and returned after the first conversation to make sure the stairs were there...

buckler: slots for shld08, 09 and 10
small shield: slots for shld01, 11 and 12
medium shield: slots for shld03, 13 and 14
large shield: slots for shld05, 15 and 16

Jovial Juggler Inn (INN3304.STO):
small shield: slots for shld01 and 12
medium shield: slots for shld03 and 14
large shield: slots for shld05 and 16

This explains the multiple choices in the purchase menu I mentioned. Wouldn't it be simpler to just have shld01, 03, 05 and 08 only in these shops?

After looking around with NI, I found the following:

Well, this is imported directly from BG1. Check BG1 with NI - you'll find the same sets of statswise-identical shields there. The shields have different colors, that's the only difference between them. A little bit of eye candy.

Removing the "duplicates" could be something for the BGT-Tweakpack, I suppose. But it is hardly a BGT bug as such.

Kaishas Gan is 1800xp in human form, but only 420xp as a loup garou (this is also in BG1).

Baresh changes from human to werewolf in the final battle with Saleed Gan, yet the .CRE (and BG1) has him as a human cleric (very dangerous with a loup garou up front). No chainmail +3 is dropped as a result.

Fear, the dwarven warder, is listed as a ghoul_revanant, unlike the others who are dwarves (this is also in BG1).

The first and third items are game problems. The second and fourth are just FYI...

If you kill Kaishas Gan in human form, can you leave Werewolf Island without MoveArea()? If not, then this doesn't really matter.

You mean LOUPGAR.CRE? I'll check this, but I don't think the race and class have anything to do with the Chainmail +3, unless you are saying that LOUPGAR.CRE doesn't have Chainmail +3.

Well, you never know what they hide under their beards... I don't think there are spells in BG1 specific to ghoul_revenants or dwarves, but this could be changed just in case.

I suppose that I can add this here rather than make a new topic. This is something that's been bothering me for a while: Thalantyr doesn't sell Mirror Image in my game. I do know that he did sell this is Baldur's Gate, and was wondering if this is an intentional omission or a mistake.

Ascension, I've never found the chain +3 any of the times I've taken Baresh out. He doesn't drop it in BGT.

UndeadsRUs, I believe that spell is replaced with Reflected Image...
