First attempt at Photoshop: Valen from NWN

OK, since it was the first time ever I tried anything with Photoshop, I was quite proud of the results, and I decided to post it here to (hopefully) get some comments. Mainly what's still bothering me is the right side of his nose. I mean really, if you check the top picture (original), THAT's a man NWN creators describe as "handsome"??? I protest at the blatant unfairness of it!!! How come the guys get Nathyrra AND Aribeth, and I'm stuck with THAT???

After some careful examination I realized that what bothered me were the shadows all over his face. I tried to fix that. My mother told me the guy looks like a girl now, but I don't believe her. Feel free to tell me so if you agree though

This is a kind of "Before/After" eheh. The image is a wallpaper from NWN vault (credit eheh)

It will also be my first attempt at joining a picture to a post, so if it doesn't work, please let me know so I won't look like a fool for too long :crazy:

I must say there's a definite improvement. ^^ Pity his ubiqitous Tiefling surname can't be photoshopped, as that's the main thing that puts me off him. ;.;

I like how you softened his features - his expression goes from angry to peaceful and stoic. I prefer my men peaceful and stoic. xP

Hishi: well, I didn't mind too much the "angry" part of his expression, but the misplaced shadows and his "pouting" annoyed me to no end. Btw, what didn't you like about the fact that he's tiefling?

Shadowhawke: erm, sorry, what does "brassed off" means?

Anyway, any suggestions on what to do with his nose???
