I was just wondering...

I have played The entire Baldur's Gate series the whole way through, and I have begun trying some of the add ins and mods.
I tried Tutu, but it was extremely glitchy and had a lot of problems.
So I downloaded BGT, and I love it. It is a great conversion with very few slowdowns and sucb.

However, I really wish that there was a way to send the NPCs to the Friendly Arm Inn when you take them out like there was in... Sword Coast Strategems(G3) mod. I was wondering if it were possible to impliment this concept into BGT, or if it has already been done? If it has, where can I download it? :woot:

SCS is converted for BGT and you can get it here: http://www.shsforums...p?showforum=313

then you can send the npc's not only to the FAI but to other places.

For some reason it would 'stop' a lot. I tried turning of the high end options in the Configuration file, but it didn't help Also, for some reason some of the items would crash to the desk top when you tried to open their descriptions.

I would really like to play Tutu as well, Would have reported bugs on Tutu's forum, but I am having trouble getting on some of the forums. I think it is my firewall. Still working on that problem.

If there is anything else you need to know, just let me know. Anything I can do to be helpful for all of you Modders out there, I'll do. I know some programming, but don't have the patience that you do.

Thanks
Leslie

Were you using standard Tutu or EasyTutu?

I tried standard tutu first. That was when the items weren't working properly...
EasyTutu was where it was 'glitching and stopping'

When I installed them, I used a full clean install of both games and expansions with the patches.
I installed the Tutu Fixpack
BG1NPC and its patch
Sword Coast Strategems
and G3's BG Tweak Pack

That was all I installed, and then started a new game. In standard tutu, I could not get out of candlekeep because of crashes, all related to items.
In Easy tutu, I didn't play very far because it was pausing about every 2-4 seconds

Does that Help any?

Yep -- if you installed the BG1 NPC Project and it's patch, then you may have accidentally installed the version for BGT on a Tutu install! It shouldn't have been possible, but anything can happen :) . You may have needed to install the Beta v12, which works on both sides of the street (much better right now on Tutu, but we are close to releasing a new Beta in which pro5 has done a huge code review and overhaul to make the BGT side much complete. Not ready for Ascension64 checkoff as BGT-compatible, but I think we are one Beta out of asking for the official okey-dokey).

This is not a call to switch to Tutu. The BGT version of SCS handles the component you were looking for, so there is no need to go to Tutu right now, but if you decide to give it another shot (and you are on an English Language install) I would give EasyTutu another try, and hit any of the forums with questions and bug reports. While some folks prefer one or the other, there are plenty of modders and players who help with both versions.

The slowdown might just as well have been SCS issue, as reported here:
http://forums.gibber...?showtopic=8173

There's a new SCS-Tutu version released yesterday which should improve on it.

It's really mysterious to me how people still end up trying Tutu 4 before EasyTutu...

Trying Standard first was an error on my part. I misread what I was installing.

As for the Easy Tutu Issue...
I do plan to play Easy Tutu also, so thanks for all of your help folks!
I really appreciate the input.

In my case, it was making an unfortunate association between EasyTutu and the 1040EZ tax form.

The 1040EZ tax form is an income tax form for people who don't need a lot of customization. It's for people who say: this is what I made, this is the tax I payed, this is the amount I owe, or the amount that I overpaid. And that's it.

The regular 1040, usually called the "long form" for good reason, lets you customize a lot more. You get to take deductions for lots of different things, like interest on your mortgage or business expenses or medical bills, but it's a lot longer, and usually more subject to interpretation.

So, I figured that EasyTutu was analogous to the 1040EZ, and I wouldn't be able to do as much with it.

Needless to say, I was mistaken.

One solution to this is to 'phase out' Tutu4 and Tutu6b, making them unavailable; or relegating them to some dusty archive where they are hard to find.

Unfortunately for international users (but very understandable for Macready's sanity and workload) Tutu v4 is the only supported option for folks using non-english-language distributions.

So the last refuge for folks without TOTSC (required for BGT, right?) using non-english distibutions is to use one of the two regular Tutus (hopefully v4) and require Tutufix.

Or we all get together and come up with a new alternative (which I know means a heavy dose of rewriting all these mods we are working so hard to make cross-platform compatible!)

I'd like to phase out Tutu 4, but yeh, international users and all. Beyond the huge message on the main site that says "hey guys, use EasyTutu!" there isn't much I can do.

To my knowledge Tutu 6 is not sufficiently functional to be used by anyone and I'm all for making it go away.
