Through lightning, travel shadow,
Through hell and all above,
Surviving sword and arrow,
Bound stronger by the love

And in the end a witness,
To where the death has lain,
Silent through the sorrow,
Where innocents lie slain

I opens a lot of new possibilies, like Mislead and backstab combination. Also, I find myself less restricted in the party members I can choose. Normally, I always needed to include a thief, but with a triple class, you can fight and cast well and not worry about a thief.
As for the slower level-ups, there's plenty of XP to be earned and your High Level Abilities are not delayed.
A triple class with Use Any Item = COOL.

By the way, Chevalier... would you really level up too fast with a full party? I can't imagine getting *that* much XP...

Actually on my last game my Fighter/Mage/Thief was at level 7 across the board at the end of the 2nd part of Bonehill in Chapter 8 and that was with using DEFJAM set to 32% for Creature XP and 10% for Traps and Locks and spells.Heh, awesome then.
. Looks like I'll take a F/M/T for my next character through when I finally get my current game finished and find space for the BG1-TotSC-BGII-ToB and any mods I'll need to play them all through with enjoyment. Thanks
. And I'll definitely be playing it for the awesome combos, Pain Elemental.

Anyway, if you're mega-modding, I would certainly pay attention to the XP issue so it doesn't turn into a simple grind-fest. You want some challenge, dontcha?

Ruling out all the editing and mods that would give up easy exp, I'd say combine this kind of character with maybe a cleric, another mage and prehaps two fighter types, one with some minor healing capabilites preferably. The thief class will level up the most, due to the smaller amounts of exp required and the fact that a high dexerity will allow for higher thieving skills.
How's that work for a non-cheat/exp mod method?
