Just started a new game of PS:T today as my old one had hit a dead end with half my party dead and no viable means with which to raise them.
So imagine my chagrin when I play all the way up until Lothar (doing many many side quests) only to lose Morte.
When I say lose I mean that I enter the Lower Ward. Morte is kidnapped. Lothar demands me to enter the tomb, I tell him I already have. I hand of Hargrimm's skull in exchange for Morte. Lothar says, "Morte's waiting for you where you entered." I go back to the entrance and lo and behold...!
Nothing.
Where Morte is meant to be there is a gaping vacuum of nothingness, my sarcastic skull seems to have disappeared for some reason. I've gone back and spoken to Lothar, but he carries on dialogue as though the quest is completed. Have I made a mistake somewhere? Is Morte somewhere other than where my memory would place him to be? Or is this a Bug?
Assistance please.
Regards,
Winston.

Hi, just wanted to make sure you have seen this thread.
It suggests that you need to see your own tomb before Morte will return to you.

I've seen it, but that isn't the problem. I've been to my tomb already. I've already given Lothar a skull and he's already said he's set Morte free.

Hmm, tricky... I suppose that you can a) try the earliest savegame you can and try from there, if he will spawn correctly this time, or b) try to fiddle around with near infinity and the values concerning the lothar quest and morte stolen variables :S I dont have a savegame from that far, so I cant test it for you now, but I might get around to it later.

No need, I found Morte, and (with some difficulty) retrieved him from his wodden prison.
I think what happened is that the cutscene in which he floats back to TNO was interrupted, causing Morte to be trapped in the wall of a neighboring building. After proper gameplay settings and many maneuverings and different positions trying to make dialogue with the chattering skull, I finally managed to pick the bastard up again.
Thanks,
Winston.
