This problem is rather weird. I was playing a rather large installation, everything was fine. The I had some trouble with some of the files getting corrupted. So I ended up having to reinstall. I cleaned my save game of all .are entries, cleaned up the strrefs on he npc I left alone, and proceeded to play. Now I was in the middle of a SoS zone at this point.

That was the story, now to the point. I can zone between the 3 connected SoS zones I was in, but I cannot go to any other zone that I tried. I tried exiting to the graveyard, CLUAing to the graveyard, CLUAing to the town gate, De'Arnise Keep, a couple more places. Every time my screen turns black and BG2 hangs. doesn't give me an error or anything.

So then I decided that maybe my save game was at fault. So I went and tried to start a new game. Everything went smoothly right up to the point where it tries to load up Irenicus' Dungeon, at which point it does the black screen of hanginess on me. The tutorial does this as well.

I tried looking around the forums, but I couldn't find anything that could help.

*edit* I did some more experimenting with some saves I dug out of an archived folder....purely CtB areas seem to work fine. I would assume that other modded-in areas are fine, just the official stuff is seriously messed up. */edit*
