In my install, playing a new BGII game and using the fast forward dialogue to skip the chores ... during the cutscene, before the final PC's Party-Sarevok battle, the Baldur's Gate city entrance FMV plays.

Maybe I should mention that in my normal BGI(BGT) game, I haven't reached BG yet :P so this was the first instance of the FMV :D

Cheers,
Lol

Lollorian,

No one is going to change the starting cutscene, unless to fix the a real bug (like not working). Its' CB's mod and he has moved on. It will be maintained, but not changed.

Yes, the second part might be a CtB bug or it could be a BGT/BWP Bug.

SoS and CtB were made by CB. TDD was made by a group of People. TS and NeJ were made by a small team led by Vlad.

The Baldur's Gate city movie during this sequence was intended by Charles. If you want you can look at CBCTMOV and it is the same as the BG1 movie just a different reference. When CtB was only a BG2 mod, it was intended (I believe) to recreate scenes from BG1 but they are in the form of a dream or flashback. Even the music during these cutscenes has an aura of a dream rather than a party in the Friendly Arm Inn.

He uses the Beregost movie in Soubar and it is a different file name as well. Making new movies would be hard to do and goes beyond normal mod making I would think.

Wait ... You mean ... this isn't Hoppy's .. OMG!!! :o You mean this is like TDD?? Ermm ... :ermm:

Also, I don't think I ever said CtB was mine (nor TDD) but I like the mod a lot and I like updating it as well in the realm of fixes and maintaining as Chev pointed out. Simple script edits, death variables and later some creature item and effect offset fixing for more stability. Plus I like to help people with the quests ;)

EDIT: I won't be releasing anything too soon as I have a lot of creatures to go through but ScuD has helped a lot with that.

I have a better idea :P

@Hoppy: That's a very cool thing to do :ccolthumb: Thanks for your work.

On topic, hmm, I understand now :D So the FMV is part of the cutscene then?? :P

Yes it is part of that whole sequence of cutscenes more like a background or a memory of Baldur's Gate  . If you had a BG2 only game CTB adds that movie to a BIF so that it will play (as movies only will play from Bifs I believe). In a BGT game you have two different files of the same movie but the two mods use their own resource.

Good luck when you play CtB and feel free to ask more questions and I will try to answer.
