This topic was first posted on IE General Help but i have been pointed that it's the wrong forum and it should be posted here

Hello guys. I'm playing BGT and very close to finishing BG1 for the frist time (and i have it since the release, believe it or not) but i run in a problem while playing.

Somewhere between my return to Candlekeep and when i found the Flaming Fist was taken over by Angelo i somehow got to a low reputation, maybe it was because i actually killed the Iron Throne leaders. When i got to Baldur's Gate i was attacked my guards and had to defend myself. At first i thought my low reputation and the attack of the guards was due to the Flaming Fist being against me and part of the storyline but when the game began to be almost impossible to play due to flaming fists appearing ot attack me everywhere i used Shadowkeeper to rise my reputation. I set it to 20 to be sure and them guards stopped attacking me and flaming fists stopped appearing from nowhere. Everything is fine except that my npcs still talk about how i "have shown my true nature" or that i "commited vile acts", it seems to have no in-game effect but it's annoying and i fear it may trouble future storylines and romances when i convert to BG2.

I'm now in what seems to be the last dungeon, right after i entered the Ducal Palace and fought the dooplegangers. I used shadowkeeper again to take a look at my global variables and noticed i have the "Criminal = 1" and "Arrested = 1" variables. Are those the source of my problem? How can i fix that? Should i just ignore it?

EDIT: BTW, if the bigg reads that i would like to say i'm sorry for adding him in MSN, didn't know it was that big of a problem.

That is part of the story. Won't affect BG2.

My problem is not that, it's that now my party companion one time greet me for being good and in another say something like:

"I'll not allow this, it's utterly evil" - Khalid
"You showed your true nature, and we are henceforth enemies" - Jaheira
"Your manners are inexplicably evil! I'm leaving" - Dynaheir

But thx for the reply anyway.

Well the problem is that you adjusted the value in Shadowkeeper. This does not adjust the NPC reaction values (stored somewhere else). You would have to change your reputation to 19 and then gain a rep point somewhere to fix up the reaction values.

Ok them. Thanks! I'll just set it to zero as i'm playing ToSC and should begin SOA soon.

BTW, i'm running an older version of BGT-Weidu. If i update and add some other mods will i still be able to play with my save game?

EDIT: Just remembered that 0 is not what you begin with. Luck me i didn't take to long to remember.

Depending on what you wish to do, do you wish to start a new game or not... I wouldn't recommend an update. As the general rule of moding applies here:

Modify first, play later...
As the Infinity Engine games save data into the savegames, they can create garbage if you load a savegame that was started before the last mod was installed, and so the principle is as simple as "Modify first, play later", there is theoretically a possibility to actually correct all the faults that the savegame has in it, but it's only theoretical at least in a game that has 1000 modifications(mod components) installed in it.
This makes the BWS'ed games savegames and exported characters invalid after reinstall, so you cannot just go and update and assume that they work the same, they won't, so you need to start a new game.

Even though that's a lot larger more modified game, it still a pretty good guideline to follow.

EDIT: Just remembered that 0 is not what you begin with. Luck me i didn't take to long to remember.

Yep, it's from 8 to 12 in normal games, depending on your alignment.
