Hi guys having an issue with crashing after installation.

I have done numerous clean installs.

Have set graphics to 16 bit.
I am using Vista

I have installed BG1 and Totsc + the right patch: (tested & works)
I have installed SoA and ToB + the right patch (tested and works)

I then did the extraction of the BGT-weidu setup: (removed media and spyware etc)
Installation went smoothly, everything ran fine.

I generated a new player in "New game" BG2, it starts to load and then crashes.
I then checked if I could get started in SoA. It works fine. But means i have to start in Arm which kinda defeats the purpose.

Any ideas other than to reinstall again.

Cheers Ben

For anyone who has the same issue,

BG1 does not save in a neat file of its own when installing. therefore it can have other folders corrupt the installation process.
Make sure even to enclose BG1 in its own folder when installing.

Not sure. Can you attach Setup-BGT.DEBUG and Setup-BGTDOS.DEBUG files? I'll just make sure that nothing went wrong with installation.

Also be sure not to install to the "Program" folders for Vista/Win7. Always create a "Games" folder and stick all older games there

I have the exact same problem. Running on Win7 with a mega-modification ( >30 mods)

Starting a new game in Candlekeep crashes the game.
Starting a new game in SoA is a-ok.
Starting a new game in ToB is a-ok.
Using the console to enter a BG1 area crashes the game.

And, for some reason, entering the inner circus tent (Waukeen's Promenade) crashes the game. At that point I stopped playing, reinstalled BG1 and BG2, and went through with my mod-installation until BGT. Still the same issues. Here is my new (short) Weidu.log:

Any crash information?
Anything in TobEx.log?
What if you manually disabled TobEx (rename TobEx.dll to something else)?

Also, re-check your graphic settings just in case it is a video card, resolution, etc. problem.

Got it to work.
The last things I tried were renaming BG1 (from "Baldur's Gate 1" to "Baldurs Gate" - the mod was apparently not finding the files ("No match for [...]") and I was wondering whether it could actually understand all the symbols) and reinstalling Baldur's Gate 2 (before that, I had repeatedly used a clean installation that I had stored in a back-up folder).

Off to play now. :)
