I recently installed BGT and the BGT Music mod, but uninstalled the widescreen mod which wasn't working out for me. Anyway, right at the beginning of BG1 my protagonist seems to be stuck standing in sort of a combat stance animation, and whenever I click on any NPCs just to talk to them they also enter a combat animation as if I had attacked them. Sort of a minor bug, but I'm kind of curious to see if it's common considering I have really barely modded the game (I tried the whole BiG World Setup but there were so many errors during installation I couldn't even get the game running so I just did a completely clean reinstall).

Should I post logs or is this some common thing that's really easy to fix? I couldn't find it with a few search terms, even on Google.

This is normal. The characters adopt a 'ready' stance when they are gearing up for an action. The relaxed standing-around occurs after standing around for a while.

Ah, thanks. I thought that might have been a possibility, I just couldn't tell because I haven't played an infinity engine game in flippin forever.

I assume this is unrelated to the modding but, is BGMain.exe supposed to use 100% of one of my CPU cores? It seems rather unnecessary and I can't get rid of it by turning off automatic performance settings or 3D acceleration settings in the config. Is there any way to make it use the tiny amount of cpu power it actually needs so I don't overheat playing such an old game?

It shouldn't. Perhaps an issue with multi-cores? I'm guessing. It may be worth trying to tether to a single core to see if that helps. IF using AMD, the Dual Core Optimizer may help.
