Hi there,

Every time I try and use The Big World installer I get to the last part of the installation where the mods actually get installed. Every time I get here I get it stalls on:

[WeiDU.exe] WeiDU version 22900
[WeiDU.exe] Using scripting style "BG2"

Installing [creature offset checker] [v1]

Please help!

Thanks

Ok so it finally moved onto the next line which was this:

BiG World Fixpack\_utils\fins: .\Big World Old Files\NMR\5\+|}+-+: No such file or directory
BiG World Fixpack\_utils\fins: .\Big World Old Files\PPK\Language\Korean\(a load of characters I don't know!).txt No such file or directory

Thanks

That's not unusual. It takes some time for find to search through the files (sometimes it searches all files on your PC, but I guess that does not really matter). And the korean characters are just not displayed correctly on your PC and thus the not find massage. Just wait some more.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

WEIDU BWP gets ridiculously slow (been doing it for two days in a virtual machine).

It should speed it up somehow. Maybe keep a file map cache in memory so it hasn't got to read them, or even make the modifications in memory and only copy them at the end to the disk.

It would also be nice for a single invocation of a WEIDU to be able to process multiple mods - the exe is the same after all.

Thanks for the quick replies. Will just wait next time.

I now have a different problem in that I thought doing a complete reinstall might help. Everything went fine until Throne of Bhaal where my installer gets stuck on 0% and I get the following: An error occurred while launching the setup, the remote procedure call failed. Have tried all sorts including copying the cd to my computer but nothing is working. Guess not really a problem for this forum but will post a solution here if I find one in case anyone else has the same problem.

This happened to me once last year. It stalled at something while installing overnight, so I checked the debug file and found the file it choked at and copied it out and deleted it. Then hit continue on the installer which then worked. Then when the install was finished I copied the file back into the override folder.

Normally it might be done in an hour, if its taking 2 hours or more it might have stalled. (and you can try the method above.)
