Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me with some noob BiG World mod questions.

I am trying to figure out how all this works- some parts of the massive guide confused me.
Have I got this right- after setting up the BiG World installer, I have to go and download manually all the various mods I want, and then the installer will install them for me?

I thought that perhaps the installer would ask me what mods I want to install, and then download them for me. Is there anything like this out there?

If no automated downloaders exist, is there a convenient list somewhere of all the latest versions of these mods and their download links? I found one or two, but they appear to list outdated versions. Do I have to manually Google for each mod that I want?

Thanks!

James.

Well that depends, what you actually wish to do.
Do you
a) wish for automatic results... then you use the BWS(the BiG World Setup).
b) wish for automatic install... then you use the BiG World Install pack(and the BiG World Install.bat), the difference here is that you will need to download and exact all the mods to your game folder, the .bat will handle the installing of the mods, but only if there's no mods already installed, and that can also be a bit tricky.
c) manually download, extract, install and fix the horror, no you don' wish to do this... hihihihi.

In a), you just start the BWS and follow the instructions on the screen, the program will download, extract and install nearly everymod you wish and you can make it wait for you at a set of places. You only need a viable(installed and patched to v2.5.26498, SoA & ToB) BG2 game.

Yeah, the BWS. Use the "download" button in the link to do just that, and run it and it will take days for you to screw around with it.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

1) Major yes.
2) It depends on what you set it to do, but in principle yes. As the output is fully customized by pushing the compilation red highlighted button:

I do suggest searching through the forums here and seeing how some mods play/work or even check out this thread http://www.shsforums...-mod-selection/ as it might give you an idea of what to skip/leave out. There's some Mods that if you decide you want to dump their characters and forget you'll be stuffed. After going through all of BG1 to find that out might piss you off when you have to reinstall again.
