First of all, I'd like to apologize that my very first post in these forums is a request for help.
Well, here we go. I haven't played Baldur's Gate in ages and can't even remember the few mods I've ever used. And here I am, finally found time to see how Shadow of Amn and ToB play (I've been spoiled already, so don't worry) and I'm running straight into megamoding. 'Thank Christ for BWP' I thought, since megamodding without its aid seems tricky for my nearly computer illiterate mind.
Still, I did my best to inform myself and I've run into a problem during the extraction and installation processes. Or so I think.
First, the setup insisted that a number of mods couldn't be found in the download directory. Namely:
BG1 Missing Files 2 (Translations and sounds)
Candlekeep Chores 2.1
Check the Bodies - Fast Forward 1.1
Ajantis BG1 Expansion 4
Volcanic Armoury 1.4
Nikitalleria NPC 1.01
Wikaede One-Day NPC 3.4
Paladins of Faerun Kitpack 5
BGT NPC Portraits 1.9
As I understand it, 'Candlekeep Chores 2.1' and 'Ctb - Fast Forward' are both components of a same mod. And Nikillateria has been removed from download by its creator.
Later, it insisted that a number of mods, some of which overlap with the ones mentioned above, couldn't be extracted. Even though they actually were:
Check the Bodies 1.13: The Mod itself (CtBv1.13a.rar)
RPG Dungeon Item Pack 2: The Mod itself (RItemPackV2.exe)
Nikitalleria NPC 1.01: The Mod itself (Nikita101.rar)
Ghareth One-Day NPC 0.91: The Mod itself (GharethNPC.zip)
Unfinished Business 19: The Mod itself (UnfinishedBusiness-v19.zip)
Turnabout 1: The Mod itself (TurnaboutV1.zip)
Kelsey NPC (ToB) 2.2: The Mod itself (KelseyTOBV22.zip)
Getting Rid of Anomen 2: The Mod itself (GRoA_v2.zip)
Keto NPC (SoA) 3: The Mod itself (Keto-SOAv3.zip)
NPC Flirt Packs 1.02: The Mod itself (NPCFlirtV102.zip)
Paladins of Faerun Kitpack 5: The Mod itself (PoF_Kitpack_V5.rar)
Legion of Hell 1.0: The Mod itself (LOHMod.zip)
Still, I went on and the cmd.exe window popped up. After answering a handful of questions, the program checked which mods could be found out in the BG II - SoA folder. I assumed the program is checking for every single mod that the BWProject supports, not just the ones handpicked by my 'Tactics' installation. Still, I was pretty sure that Check the Bodies and Turnabout were part of the installation so I decided to see if the Setup somehow screwed up with the extraction of some of the mods.
Guided by the BiG World.pdf, I found out that the problem was that most of the mods' setups weren't extracted, though Check the Bodies' files were buried deep three folders. So I did it myself. It worked and the cmd.exe now managed to find out both Check the Bodies and Turnabout. Still, I'm insecure about it. So my question is: do you foresee any problems with me manually extracting the setups and such? Even though many of these mods that couldn't be found used a setup of their own for the extraction?
