Just finish the familiars first. I suggest an edited version of the standard Familiar spell, giving players a choice of familiars.

What actually gets put on the .gam file? is it everything like a .cre file?
would it be possible to recycle? So after the 1st summon dies, when you summon the 2nd is there anyway to make it overrite the previous summon?

Have you played the game with valygar? He gets over his 'magic phobia'...
I'd appreciate it if you would leave those mage ideas alone, and just do the familiars part. I just figured that while you were working on them, you could find out what made them so special in being able to travel with the party from area to area. And if you could findout if it was possible to make other spell's summons travel in the same way.
Once the familiars bit is working properly, then you move onto the next thing. Don't end up making the Planar Sphere mod's mistake and going for quantity over quality.

Creating new spells is impossible in-game. But creating the illusion of creating spells isn't.
