@Jastey: If you want to check if the files from your PC differ from Sers, you could use a md5sum tool like this,

There are no BiG World Text/Smooth/Fixpacks involved in the BGEE-installs. So there's nothing that tries to patch the mods files.

You likely do have bgeegraphics13.part1.rar and bgeegraphics13.part2.rar but not bgeegraphics13.part3.rar in your download-folder.
Get http://www.shsforums...phics-overhaul/ and put it in that folder. Ignore the error when extracting bgeegraphics13.part2.rar.
And next time, maybe load the master-file and not the download since that error should have been fixed in the master-branch download.

#575852 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Edit: There's no Textpack in the BG:EE install, so it does not patch / edit any of those modding files...

#575833 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

It deletes the files from the BWP Textpack.
So the Textpack will not patch WAs version at all.

#575729 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by dabus on 02 March 2015 - 09:46 AM in Mega Mod Help

Well, the BWS detected errors and asks if you want to try to extract those mods without error on your own.
Installing mods which content is not ok may not be a very good idea, so the BWS wants to remove those from the installation.

You decline, the BWS wants to switch into the BG2-path and fails miserably. Maybe you use some odd codepage?
The backslash is totally busted. cd /D "C:õBWGõBaldur's Gate 2" should be cd /D "C:\BWG\Baldur's Gate 2"

Use an editor like notespad to open C:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\BiG World Setup\Includes\07_Extract.au3.
Search for For $n = $DirList[0] To 1 Step -1 and replace it with For $n = $DirList[0] To 3 Step -1.
I thought that was already replaced some time ago...

Edit: Error and fix was reported here.
You did not update the 7z yourself?

#575712 Need Help Regarding Screen Resolution

Posted by dabus on 01 March 2015 - 11:23 AM in Mega Mod Help

Maybe I should say I had a similar problem with scaling in general and I solved it by playing by going to the Tools > Picture Format-menu and playing with the settings there.

Then prevent the Tv from scaling. Had the same problem with a Samsung Tv and it can be solved.

#575675 Trouble with Big World Installation

Posted by dabus on 26 February 2015 - 12:26 PM in Mega Mod Help

I thought I wrote that question into the BWS-thread but got that mixed up.
And I didn't try to pick on you or read the thing because I don't know what would be in there by default currently and I just read a few things so I came up with the question.
Well, I read BP + Spellpack are buggy and likely cause issues with spiderwebs -- likely.
I also read the BP + statagems may cause a few enemies to stand around doing nothing.
People may had different experiences, but I guess that shrinking ones selection might help prevent errors (just because of maths / possibility) and a working "smaller" environment may be better to start from than a bigger that has a few issues.

#575673 Trouble with Big World Installation

Posted by dabus on 26 February 2015 - 10:31 AM in Mega Mod Help

I don't know if it's worth discussing or if it'll end with running in circles, but how about renaming / removing stuff from the bigger sections like standard/tactic?
The selection above has a whopping 1050 lines/components... For me, that would be too much.

Is there any consensus what would be a good, better, very good mod? I mean, I often see someone picking standard and the first thing another one says is: Oh my god, that's standard? No way...
I don't know if you need expert/the buggy selection of if you could just throw in something else. You could still select the buggy stuff by going through the stuff yourself if you want to.

Or do you think we should remove those categories and stick with groups that are in the BWS-menu like Adult/Fun/Unsuited and expand those?
Or expand the tree with the BG1 NPC, BG2 quests and other branches with new ones that go more into detail? Like slitting tweaks into something to alter micromanagement, money, npc management, magic, ...

Just asking around for a bit of input from the community, I don't have any clue about quality/content but that topic somehow bothers me.
Any volunteers that want to contribute if you'd like to have something changed to help out Alien and Quiet? I don't want to raise the workload for those guys.

#575638 BWS Standard - missing archives

Posted by dabus on 24 February 2015 - 09:42 AM in Mega Mod Help

Alien updated the files for the master.zip and Turin likely loaded the download from the beginning of this year.
Anyway, just force the BWS to use scs30 as "Additional mod file". Then the BWS will extract scs30 twice => no harm whatsoever.

Or you'll have to edit the BiG World Setup\Config\BWP\Mod.ini.
Just remove the entries with an "add" at the beginning underneath the [stratagems]-section. Save, Restart the BiG World Setup.vbs and resume the install.

#575366 Trouble with Big World Installation

Posted by dabus on 10 February 2015 - 04:06 PM in Mega Mod Help

Well, if you get the install-log from BiG World Setup\Logs-folder, we could check that.
I remember 2 quirks the last time I checked a config-tool for Alien. So reinstalls might happen in certain conditions. Not saying its still in there, so the compressed log would be fine

#575324 Trouble with Big World Installation

Ok. Another try.

Right-click that 3KB batch-file and select edit.
Window pops up.

Copy/paste the bold line into the second line so your first three lines looks like this:
@echo off
cd /D "C:\BGII - SoA"
SET IF=IF EXIST

Save and try the "right-click as Admin"-action again.

#575322 Trouble with Big World Installation

Posted by dabus on 09 February 2015 - 03:09 PM in Mega Mod Help

no rightclick on batch.
Search cmd, do a rightclick on the found cmd.exe and run that one as admin.
Do a cd /D "BG2-path where things are in"
Then start the batch by typing in "BiG World Install.bat"
Or edit the BiG World Install.bat and insert a line with the cd /D "BG2-path where things are in" at the top.

#575275 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

After one google for VTRoot, I'd guess that you run Comodo Firewall and it does not like the BWS...

#575264 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by dabus on 07 February 2015 - 08:34 AM in Mega Mod Help

Well if you still got the errors, I'd restore the backup and and let the BiG World Installpack do the installation.
I don't have Windows 8.1 to reproduce this and I don't know if your PC is blocking something or was configured that way (e.g. the PC not able to run vbs-files).

All I can tell you is that BWS uses the cmd-entries to install fix/smooth/textpacks and so on, which wouldn't get applied if these fail, and that would be a load of unnecessary (and already fixed) faults. So either redo the install as it was and stop before the real install starts and start the BiG World Installpack yourself (start the cmd as admin and navigate into the games directory) or go back, switch to the installpack-option and let that go through.

#575254 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by dabus on 07 February 2015 - 03:37 AM in Mega Mod Help

Try it the right-click -> "Run as Admin" way. I was told that you have to run AutoIt3 as admin if you want to use it using Windows 8.
Since the vbs would always start the Autoit3 as admin, you have to do it yourself.

Sure it does... Look at line 10, 19, 838 and so on...

Yes, pause or just call Setup-!BInfinitySounds.exe and select the things yourself.
Setup-!BInfinitySounds.exe --language 0 --skip-at-view --force-install-list 0 1 2 [and more components] --logapp | %M%
should also do it... But as said, I'd guess that you run into problems if you'd use normal
Call %INST% !BInfinitySounds "0 1 2"
And safest way would be the pause.

I guess that using --list-languages and --list-components are better suited for normal users than searching for "BEGIN"-tokens in tp2-files.

And you might have problems using this mod in batches without renaming since it uses this stupid exclamation mark in it's name.
In batch, it's also used for other things, so you might just want to install it manually.
"Setup-!BInfinitySounds.exe" --nogame --no-exit-pause --list-components "!BInfinitySounds\Setup-!BInfinitySounds.tp2" 0

#575201 Okey dokey! Much less confused...

Posted by dabus on 04 February 2015 - 02:09 AM in Mega Mod Help

691/68/TS preferred to NEJ2/TS-BP.

You have to choode between new nej 68/691, new ts or old nej2/ts-bp, which can be installed together. So the preferred "splits" the conflicting parts. So you could also try 691 and ts. There may be other conflicts, and you'll see those graphically/with colors, which may make things clearer.

And this has nothing to do with the BP AI / tactics / encounter mod.

#575194 BiG World Setup (an attempt to update the program)

Posted by dabus on 03 February 2015 - 02:41 PM in Mega Mod Help

BWS creates those to execute things like move, copy, batches.
So it is bad that you had that error.

Can you look if the file exists?
Can you check if you can create files in the BG2-folder?

#575166 BWPv14

Posted by dabus on 01 February 2015 - 02:12 PM in Mega Mod Help

Uhm, you do execute a cmd and go to the BG2-folder and start the BiG World Installpack from there, right?
If not, that's the error.
You cannot right-click the batch and select run as admin since you'll start a cmd which is located in C:\Windows\system32.
Therefore, the current path (folder from where the BiG World Install.bat is executed from ist C:\Windows\system32.
When you click the batch as a user, the current path is where the BiG World Install.bat is in, which is your bg2-path.
So when running a user, the batch will not find the BiG World Installpack-folder and behave oddly.

At least I get a few "cannot find file"-warnings before a pause an no text is displayed when I do that.
When I run it as described at the top of this post, everything is ok.
So I'd advice to rewrite the hint about "click as admin" or take a vbs to do so.

Edit:
You can simply test where you are by adding this at the top: echo %cd% or pwd.

Batch should create it during the interview about your desired settings.
