#452358 Yuwwie's First Attempt at a Portrait...Lovely.

Posted by Icendoan on 11 June 2009 - 03:08 PM in Layers of Reality

Yeah, the piercings don't stand out now, and he has a complete nose, so all the previous gripes are corrected. :)

Now for the new ones! XD Now, I'm not an expert in the subject by any means, but:

The shadow cast by his nose looks a little weird.

I think what makes the piercings look weird is that I don't think they have shadows...

Otherwise, utterly brilliant work!

#464882 Why no 1024x768?

Posted by Icendoan on 10 October 2009 - 01:44 PM in Ghostdog's PS:T UI

It is probably my lack of understanding, because afaict, WSM does stretch things to fill the screen, and I read the bit about 640x480 and 1024x768 as both being 4x3 as meaning they both have the same scaling.

I am probably not understanding properly.

Perhaps because the Widescreen mod stretches things best if they retain the same proportions?

This is speculation, only, however.

#444127 Which of all mods are compatible with each other?

Posted by Icendoan on 18 April 2009 - 02:14 PM in IE Modding Discussion

Well, you would be interesting in the BiG World Project (BWP) which someone handy might pop up with a link to (but it is on this site) which aims to install all known mods at once, in a stable megamod.

The ordering they have allows you to leave as many mods as you like out, if you dislike the content or something, or to sometimes include other mods in the install order (at your own risk, of course).

If you wish to play multiple times, using a different set of mods each time (so you can find your favourites and distinguish content and so on), we would have to know what you want to install beforehand.

If you have any problems at any time in your install (and you may have, but we do our best to make things bug-free) you would be asked for a file called WeiDU.log which is simply a text file containing a list of all the components of every mod you have installed, in order, earliest at the top.

Thank you for the thank you! :)

#454609 What part of BGII gameplay do you find the most fun and why?

Posted by Icendoan on 02 July 2009 - 10:38 PM in IE Modding Discussion

A general puzzle and assassination. Preferably one which you actually have to think about what you are doing and try and stay stealthy, instead of being able to simply go in guns-blazing.

IMHO, how it all ties together as one game. :)

#456518 Varshoon an illithid NPC

Posted by Icendoan on 19 July 2009 - 01:09 PM in IE Mod Ideas

Quite frankly, this looks amazing! The kit doesn't look God Like, because of the weapon restriction. There aren't that many daggers which are better than swords or axes! I suppose testing shall tell.

Also, the screenshots look amazing, and I am awaiting it with baited breath!

#453399 Ultimate Planescape: Torment installation guide

A TP2 is the WeiDU mod-code, and is therefore fundamental. :)

For your question, both a) and b) are viable, but a) takes longer. On the other hand, the new UB would have the position of being installed LAST. EG:

Widescreen Mod
Ghostdog's UI
Fixpack
UB 3.01
Tweaks

With procedure a), your installation would not look like the former, but like this:

Widescreen Mod (unchanged)
Ghostdog's UI (Unchanged)
Fixpack (unchanged)
Tweaks (uninstalled and reinstalled, so potential change)
UB 3.02 (changed)

The only problems for this is if Tweaks installs differently depending if UB is installed, if so, Tweaks cannot take into account UB's existence. This occurs mainly with global changes, such as changing dialogue consistently, or making all clubs do 2d4 damage, as any clubs UB adds after Tweaks would have inconsistent damage. Also, if you changed something about Tweaks, say a file or a line in the TP2, it would be installed with these edits.

b) would leave all things unchanged, unless you again changed something in the TP2 for Tweaks, again.

#445197 Tutorial Request Thread

Well, there is PartyRested() scripting trigger, but that would trigger after the rest, iirc. If you want it before resting, there are workarounds but I'm not sure how.

I thought about this one, and I'm going to spec Spirit Healer/Bloodmage this run and just spam everything and heal myself.

I suppose, if you just switch back to Mana and heal yourself, you'll do fine.

#467673 The Tactics Thread

The use of glyphs for the paralyzation is fantastic, I have to admit. Because you can cast your glyphs fairly distant, it makes it easy to cast Repulsion + Paralyzation (in that order, so nobody sets off the paralyzation glyph) and then let your warriors charge in.

The Glyphs are fantastic spells, by far my favourite so far: Repulsion will keep anyone inside the Glyph free from anything which isn't worth worrying about on its own (Hurlocks, ect) for the duration, and it also proves very effective if used offensively in Choke Points (eg doors) as the enemies cannot pass through.

I used Glyphs of Warding less, mainly due to the higher cost, and that you can achieve better results by kiting, if fighting something which can't be repelled with blind spots or Heroic Aura (which is another fantastic spell, btw)

That, I believe would be SCSII. It separates them all so you can use individual Spell Immunities inside things like Triggers and Contingencies.
