One screenshot. Didn't really have to the chance to play today... spent most of the day sleeping.

Screenshot - Dawn is breaking. Greet the new day.

Hrm, another screenshot... this one taken during a search for a ruin in the mountains east of cheydinhal.

Two more screenshots. Nothing spectacular, but... eh, after the whole ordeal with the Kvatch gate, I DID NOT feel like making something dramatic. Apparently, natural environments was... conflicting with the Kvatch gate, causing random crashes while in the proximity of a door, entering a door, or (much more seriously) while saving. Most annoying.

Screenshot #1 - Light in the Darkness. (Pre-battle)
Posted Image

Screenshot #2 -  Shine brighter and brighter, child of the skies, till darkness flees. (post-battle)
Posted Image

No in-battle shots because... the whole battle in front of the chapel lasted like 15 seconds. I only managed to take down 2 clannfear before the battle ended. Albeit, my companion managed to take down Captain Mattius with a badly aimed "damage fatigue" spell... so he spent most of the battle laying on the ground glowing red. It was funny, because it's usually me she hits with those damned spells. *mumbles*

Bought some dwarven (albeit worn) stuff... and my companion has dino-feet.. er, elven boots! Most of her stuff is mythril, though.

Hrm, I had three more screenshots, but... er, I somehow overwrote two of them... so I've only got one for the time being.

Screenshot - Watch and learn.

Screenshot Caption - Hrm, somehow... a guy with wings riding on a flying dragon seems redundant.

I come bearing another screenshot from my character's adventures!

Screenshot #1 - Unicorn, Dragon, Breton, and Winged Guy vs Hill Giant
Posted Image

If the unicorn and dragon weren't there, I'd have died... because I'm only level 1. And a level 1 guy + level 2 breton vs MMM hill giant = BAD.

Time for another screenie. This time it's my character practicing his hand-to-hand skills with his travelling companion. It's a wee bit off center, but that's intentional.

Screenshot 1 - The incoming kidney punch would hurt if he wasn't mostly encased in steel.

The result of that little scuffle... Oblivion hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Screenshot - Looks like she broke more than a nail.

Screenshot - I don't even want to know how you made my left kidney explode through steel plate armour.

Darn wings are clipping in the first picture... oh well.

Well, my character isn't as fancy as everyone else's, considering I just started him... but, eh, what the heck?

First, a little backstory on him.

Josephus Malachi was never a particularly nice fellow. As a young man, he travelled the whole of Tamriel as a mercenary, taking any well-paying job, without any concern for 'morals' or 'ethics'. For over three decades, he scoured the continent, leaving a trail of bloodied bodies, crushed spirits, and a few broken hearts... until, at the age of 51, he retired to the town of Balmora. Using his rather considerable amount of wealth that he had amassed over the three and a half decades he had travelled Tamriel, he lived a comfortable life, drinking, defacing the local temple, and generally making a nuisance of himself. However, one day he went too far. Stumbling through Balmora in a drunken haze, he happened upon a middle-aged Dunmer dressed in expensive jewelry and robes. Being the greedy bastard that he is, he immediately attacked the Dunmer, intending to 'relieve' him of his valuables, and possibly his life.

Unfortunately for Josephus, this dunmer was none other than Ramza Kelradi... Archmagister of the Great House Telvanni, Arch-mage of the Morrowind branch of the Mages' Guild, Knight of the Imperial Dragon of the Imperial Legion, and, most importantly, the Nerevarine. Despite his considerable experience, Josephus' was completely outmatched by the Dunmer, who defeated him in a matter of seconds. However, instead of killing Josephus, the Nerevarine instead had him arrested. For his crime(s), he was sentenced to death. Oddly enough, Josephus did notice that the Nerevarine attended his trial, always wearing a knowing smirk... as if he knew more about Josephus' ultimate fate than he was telling. In any case, he was sent to the Imperial City's prison to await his trial.

And as the day of his execution draws near, he becomes more and more desperate...

Whoo, there's the whole backstory behind my... TWO screenshots. Anyway, on to the screenies, eh?

Screenshot 1: Josephus searches for a hidden door that was rumored to be in one of the cells in this very jail... to no avail, unfortunately.

Posted Image

Screenshot 2: Overcome with desperation, Josephus does something he's never done before... pray to the gods, promising to change his ways and become a better man, if only they would save him.

Posted Image

Well, those are all the screenies I have right now... and I'm not entirely sure I'm going to continue on with Josephus, since I've a nasty habit of not sticking with characters long.

Daiyoukai Ramza proudly presents... the amazing Patchwork Pussycat.

Screenshot - Notice, a normal, purple-afroed Khajiit. Nothing particularly odd about this fine feline fellow.

Posted Image

But when this chameleon in cat form disrobes... something completed !&*#ed up happens.

Screenshot - Patchwork pussycat... PRESTO CHANGO!

Posted Image

I'm 100% sure this little... change is due to Roberts body mod. I've done the whole "go into the CS and fiddle around" thing since I have BP 2.5, but I'm fairly certain I botched things up. So... uh, any ideas on how I can remedy this?

Alright, I said I'd re-do those fighting shots so they're... like, not so dark and closer to the action, so... er, here they are. Took me a while, because the areas I was in, for some reason, caused my video card to get up to 100C, which... uh, caused it to poop out a couple of times, which made getting these shots VERY FRUSTRATING. It's only the second area I've encountered that causes my temperatures to skyrocket. Might have been the area itself (temple in the Imperial City), the three torches I dropped for lighting, or it might've been the armour I used. I dunno, at this point I don't really feel like finding out.

#305750 Pictures of Oblivion Characters

Posted by Daiyoukai Ramza on 20 May 2007 - 10:48 PM in Oblivion Screenshot Archives

Hrm, back to the younger version of my character. These next few screenshots detail a sort of 'inner' battle he had in a dream.

Screenshot 1 - Beside myself in anger.
Posted Image

Screenshot 2 - Missed by nary an inch. (Yes, that is a miss... it's RIGHT under my doppleganger's sword arm.)
Posted Image

Screenshot 3 - Cheap-shot with the hilt. (Doppleganger is a helluva lot faster than the original, hence why he can do that so quickly.)
Posted Image

Screenshot 4 - DO A BARREL ROLL! Er, I mean... *runs away*
Posted Image

Screenshot 5 - I think being smashed in the face with that sword gave me a concussion.
Posted Image

...and I just noticed that my doppleganger is in almost the exact same pose in the last two screenshots. Oh well.

I had a few more screenshots, but apparently Oblivion hates me and decided to overwrite them. And, as for #2, well... I had a WAY better one, except I forgot to disable the UI, so it's got the life bars and stuff... very goofy looking.

Ciao.

Hrm, I've got a few more screenshots. Don't be fooled by his appearance, it's the same character... just a few centuries older. Time has taken its toll and despair has rooted itself in his heart.

Screenshot 1 - Contemplating the inevitable.
Posted Image

Screenshot 2 - Taking matters into his own hands.
Posted Image

Screenshot 3 - My blood, like my hope, has run dry.
Posted Image

Screenshot 4 - So dizzy...
Posted Image

Screenshot 5 - Angel falling from grace.
Posted Image

Screenshot 6 - Those who live by the sword, die by the sword.
Posted Image

Also, I'm well aware of the fact that there's no blood, and... a rather abrupt change from rather dark night to dawn. That last picture took a LONG TIME to get right... so let's just say that, story-wise, it's a few hours later. Albeit, upon examination, the oustretched wings look wonky... should've used the 'tucked' version of the wings.

Heh, I've never tried an army shot... but I wonder how much I'd lag? x2 3800, x1950pro, 2GB RAM. Naturally, it would lag... but I've found that, after a certain # of character, my FPS sort of, well... bottoms out and doesn't go any lower. Albeit, that's around 10 FPS, so it's nigh unplayable. I'd upgrade my 3800 to something better, but... it's a 939 socket, and finding a 939 socket processor is IMPOSSIBLE these days. Well, not impossible... I've found a few 3800's for sale. But I think it might just be a wee bit pointless to side-grade to the same chip.

Hence why I'm going to just build an entirely new computer and use my current one for por... er, pork... comparisons. Yeah, that's it. Pork comparisons! :whistling:

I'll still be stuck with this computer for a while, though... since I'm going to splurge for my next rig. It's not gonna be absolute top-o'-the-line, but it'll blow my current rig out the water.

And then, it'll be rendered obsolete a month later.

Thanks Rumples & Daiyoukai!  Yeah, the ponytail is sort of messed up - the circlet thing's a good idea.  That bow's from goth shopII, it's the magpie bow.

Hrm, there's a Goth Shop II? I'll have to check that out, as I absolutely LOVE the first one, even though the guy in the cage has no eyes in my game.

<Snippy-snip>

Daiyoukai Ramza (that name again...): "Give someone some wings and they think they are king of the world, figures..." :) thats my suggestion for a caption :)

<Chainsaw-snip>

Daiyoukai Ramza (I think i have gotten over the name now, don't worry): Isn't it kinda on fair that one of you is wearing plate armor and the other is using their bare fist? Even if they got the perfect hit (yea that one) it would hurt them more than you. :)

<Mini-snip>

Heh, that's actually a pretty good caption for him. Although, he's really quite a humble guy... well, he'll grow into a humble fellow, eventually. As this is a younger version of him than the original character, he's still a cocky teenager.

Yeah, it had occured to me that bare fist vs steel plate armour is just a tad bit unfair... but, on the other hand, the person he's fighting is far more skilled than him at H2H combat (and sword combat, and magic combat, and marksmanship, and...), so he'll need that layer of metal to keep from being tenderized like a slab of meat. Heh, actually... I'm going to make a screenshot that shows the result of that little scuffle I posted.

Help! I'm restarted!

I keep restarting my games with Avalon cause I have no idea wtf I'm gonna play her as. For the love of god (and my sanity) can someone make a suggestion? I don't care if it's "role-play her as a one-legged traveling hooker" I'm desperate for some advice :S Whatever whoever recommends I'll stick to this time, I'm losing my mind restarting so much :\

I've got a problem similar to that... but, er... I've a tendency to start over COMPLETELY from the beginning, due to the fact that the lighting is better for molding a character's face. Well, that, and the fact that I'm obsessive-compulsive. And I can't use a starter dungeon skipper mod... since that would screw up a few of my other mods.

Anyway, Luchaire's mystic archer idea sounds like it could be more fun than a barrel of monkey-samurai/ninja-people from Akavir! I'd try that myself, since I'm already using telekinetic mastery, but... I am completely incapable of playing more than one character at any given time. And, seeing as my blonde pretty-boy is a battlemage type (with emphasis on 'battle'), I don't think I'll be able to do that anytime soon.

On a related note, I'm seriously regretting taking alteration. I'm contemplating using the console to switch it out for something that I may actually use... with the proper skill adjustments, of course. I'm thinking armorer or conjuration.

Neat character, cyborg... the scar is a nice touch!

I'd have posted new screenshots by now, but... umm, I somehow broke my Oblivion. So, well... I'm going to have to do a full reinstallation to fix it.

Hmph, for some reason, it started acting wonky when I downloaded MMM 3.0. Then OBSE stopped working. If I reboot the computer and try to load it through OBSE, it gets to the Bethesda screen, then terminates the program. If I try to use OBSE after that try, it just turns the screen black, blinks back and forth between black and... really dark grey, then terminates itself. Oy, figures that something like this would happen. And just when I'd downloaded Supreme Magicka, too!

Anyway, I'll be back in a while, once I'm done fixing my durn game... after a break, since I've spent most of today goofing around with screenshots.

@ Floydian: Ooh.. is that that new snowglobe home? Looks neat. Nice shots, as always.

@Charisma: I've never seen that armour before... except for the shield, of course. Looks neat.

@ Kimory: Poor Legionnaire... or is that poor fishmerman? Either way, poor (target of character in the screenshot).

@Alexander Wolf: I've always loved castles situated in snowy areas. :coolthumb:

@ Rogue Sun: Yep, definitely has an artistic feel to it... especially the last shot.

@ VanQa: Heh, she looks sorta irked in the picture with the hist tree.

@ Grimbot: Heh, I've REALLY got download that snowglobe home. Also, your character kinda reminds me of the version of Leonidas from 300... with lighter hair. Nice shots, in any case.

@ Anyone I may have missed: Nice screenies.

@Charisma: I've never seen that armour before... except for the shield, of course. Looks neat.

Thanks :) The armor is called Giger, and from the BAB mod. I must have an older version as there was no armor texture folder so I gave it my own. In different lights it looks...different  Sometimes futuristic with a soft glow other times blending in to her skin and hardly there.
My companion wears a red version but it's not as nice.

There are so many really nice characters here, how on earth do I comment on them all? :D I assume many of you stick with one character?

I have limited time online so will try to keep up, even though it resembles peak-hour here some days :)

Hrm, from what I can tell, most of the people here have multiple characters. Although, for those that do have 2 or more character, they usually have a favorite one they play a bit more than the others.

As for me, I tend to stick with one character at any given time. Mostly because I've a tendency to forget to use an ACTUAL save slot, rather than auto/quicksave... and, back when I tried juggling multiple character... I ended up overwriting characters that only had ONE save. Not exactly something I enjoyed.

Albeit, it did teach me to save often, and in different slots, in case of random crashes or something. Of course, when it crashes WHILE saving and corrupts that save... then we have problems. Darn unstable(ish) Oblivion.

@ Kalia: I love that bow! It's very... ah, what's a good word... intricate? Meh, in any case I think I've seen it somewhere before. I might actually have that bow, or one similar to it, modded into my game. Of course, I'm not sure, since my character doesn't use bows... and is too low a level to get any special bows, even if he was a bow-user. But, fortunately, I'm two or three skill-ups from level two. It only took me... ~6-7 hours to get to level two.

Whoa...your character is riding an clannfear!?!  I want one!  Where did you get it?

<teh hotness>

Avalon is so amazingly beautiful, SeV!  Hrmm...she really looks upset about something...

Great screens everybody!!

Got it from Tessource. Here ya' go. The idle animation is kind of awkward though.
