Normally appearing as a slim man with short black hair and austere features, he earned the title "the Marvellous" because of his reputation as a dandy who wears ostentatious, ornate clothing

I also looked at the book covers, which is why he has a beard.

Sorry, but no one is getting a barkskinned + protected from evil portrait from me unless their NPC is the bastard child of Dolores Umbridge and a tree ent. I will change his avatar colours in his .cre file to be consistent, though, so thanks for the heads up!

The first post has been updated with the completed mod images for V2. All that is left now is coding. Hey, if you want it released faster, help me code it together. You know where the PM box is. ;-)

Two questions:
- will the human Illasera also be available? I find that portrait really nice...
- Concerning BG1 characters, which also appear as modded BG2 characters: will their portrait also be given to their BG1 versions, if BGT is installed? For example: Xan, Angelo (who can't join the party in BG1, but his portrait could appear in conversations...) Will for example Xan be instalable if BGT is installed, but not the Xan for BG2 mod?

Well, Xan is a special case because his mod does not come with a default custom portrait like the others. If you install this mod, you will have to manually switch back to BG1 Xan in something like Shadowkeeper if you are playing BGT and want his BG1 portrait. I suppose there is a way to code an exception to that, but I don't know it and I reserve my energies for actually making e portraits, not learning how to use WeiDu if possible ;-). For now though the only solution for Xan is to ask about each portrait on install and skip his if you want BG1 defaults.

All other characters ppear only in the BG2 portion of the game, to my knowledge. Unless the mod author created a bg1 part component of their mod and included the same default portrait as their bg2 mod. Gavin comes to mind here, but I did not do a Gavin portrait so that's a nonissue. Kivan also comes to mind, but. his BG1 mod and his BG2 mod are separate packs, with separate portraits, and my edit only checks against the BG2 pack.

I am still deciding if human illasera is an optional component or not. 7 of you said no and 3 said yes, and only 1 wanted a choice, so I tend to think the effort is not worth it. we will see as soon as I am done adding in the rest of the portraits, since almost every image is one component, it takes a while ;-). by then I will either say what's one more, or forget it :-p. I won't remove the portrait from the thread in case people want to manually add it anyway, but then you resize and rename it yourself :-)

Ah, in case that is not clear enough; these portraits affect only BG2 default and mod npcs. They shouldn't do anything to any bg1 npc, custom or default, with the exception of Xan, and only then if you have kulyok's bg2 xan mod installed. BGT or not. :-)

Well, I did PM Enkida with the link to the original portrait - he never seemed to answer it, judging by the portrait he made...

Still, if he wants to change Rhilatio's in-game colors to match his portrait, that would be fine with me.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

Sorry, I got your link to the mod website and understood it as a request to change the pink hair and weird skin to lore correct appearances! Especially since it mentioned the books...

Very nice portrait, but there is a inconsistent: Rhilato's avatar and stock portrait have different colors to your version. Here is the stock portrait:

Of coruce, you can just change the colors of his avatar with WeiDU, but depends on which colors you think fit him.

OHMIGOSH! Wock teh flocka! How dare you post up a picture of my husband when he first wakes up in the morning without even asking me or him for approval first!! Like, right now, like, I just feel so...*Sniff*, like so exposed n' stuff, cause, like, everyone is seeing his morning side without him even knowing. :crying:

Nah, I'm just messing around. :lol2:

Anyway, Enkida, I love your Kiyone, Sarah, Tashia, Ninafer, Rhilato (Sorta looks like Apolo Ohno :Tasty: ). I think they look totally amazing!

That picture looks human. Nina is an elf. But that cocky, uppity look fits her.
Her lips were red, her looks were free
Her locks were as yellow as gold
Her skin was white as leprosy.
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

So.... I take it you are not including MiLeah's Gavin? Really would fit in the pack, and I don't think there is going to be a new release of Gavin soon... so, why don't you include it?

Well, for version 3. Right now I am switching gears to coding, updating the readme, tracking down the credits and general polishing. :-) I will open a new request thread, though. so people can get in early for whenever I start up with the NPC portraits again. It will happen eventually, unless lighting strikes or something.

Nina is an elf.

Hmm, I didn't realize that. I would fix it if I could think of a way to get an ear in there, but the hood is in an unfortunate position - just as it is on the original Viconia portrait. The good news is that I didn't edit her hood down to reflect the human ear, so the "hood bumps" still outline Viconia's elven ear in there. Not that something that annoyingly subtle is much comfort. ^__^; What I can do to Nina still, on comparison to the rest of the portraits in the big picture, is desaturate it a little so it matches the other styles more closely, but that's not an emergency fix, and some people might actually like the saturated version better. It's your call, Solaufein. :)

I take it you are not including MiLeah's Gavin?

I forgot to ask! That's MiLeah's call :-)

Can I just say Enkida, I'm absolutely loving your work. You've really been doing an amazing job, and I think I can say that the whole community appreciates your hard work and dedication - especially considering you've been taking requests. It's hard enough to motivate yourself to work on a project YOU want to do, let alone one you're not particularly invested in. So thank you! And please don't burn yourself out. Take a much needed break (but not too long, I hope - I love following this thread, each time I'm excited to see if there's a new update :D)

Thanks guys. :-)

This is a patch for a certain banter in the BG1NPC Project Xan, in case you use his portrait for a BGT install.

notice he is not happy to be modified this way, LOL

Also, MiLeah's Gavin is shipping with v2 as well:

Heh, since I actually got some mail about this here's a public announcement: currently v2 beta #5, which was created just yesterday, is undergoing testing. The plan is to release it by the beginning of April. "What's taking so long!" is, among other things, bugtesting around the .cre changes included so that you will not have to start a new game to see the changes applied, as well as testing against mega installs, namely with BGT and related mods. If anyone wants to beta test (or keep beta testing) it would go faster. ;-)

I suppose I asked in the wrong place before... but could you do an Imoen portrait based on her BG1 appearance for BG2? I really liked her original portait and hated how much they changed it between games. Pretty Please with Sugar on top? ^_^;
