Hubelpot started out as a joke, turned into a one day NPC, then a one week NPC, and is now an NPC project. Let this be a lesson to all of you never, ever to tell a joke under any circumstances, ever.
Screw that! Let the Hedgehog familiar and latex gnome optional components begin!
I am quite prepared to begin work on the latex gnome project. How about the gnomes in the Copper Coronet are in fact latex gnomes, for a start?
Then you could have a random encounter in Athkatla when you are assaulted by a group of gnomes, clad in black latex. You find a note on their leader linking them to the Athkatla Rights for Gnomes Association (ARGA), who have taken to covertly attacking adventurers for money, and the kicks of wearing latex.
As for the hedgehog, Hubelpot could pick it up in the Umar Hills area, outside the Ranger's Cabin. Then <CHARNAME> could test the common assertion that "a hedgehog can never be buggered at all". It could have such innate abilities as "Curl Up In Ball" (+4 AC bonus, cannot attack or move) and it could inflict damage on anyone who attacks it.
