Edwin's BG-SoA Transition and the like

What happens to a BG Edwin carried on to SoA?
It's not really a problem (not yet - thank god), but I wonder how Edwin's Quests in Mae Var's guildhouse could be affected by that .
I've thought about kicking my old Edwin out to make place for the BG2 version, since his loud BG1 voice is really annoying. But what will happen to his already started Dialouges and stuff? Is a BG1 Edwin able to play his SoA part fully?
Another thing, which is not really a problem, but strange somehow:
Just out of curiousity I picked up the BG2 Shar-Teel while I had my old one along, and she started to talk with Sarevoks voice. Is this a known bug or just my fault ?

One of the advantages of BGT is that all the XP and any skill abilities you gave the character will still be with them in SOA when you meet them again. So if you gave Edwin a proficiency of Staff or Dagger, it will still be there later. Same with the spells you had him learn. That was one part of SOA that never made since, how can a wizard at level 9 or 10 only have three spells memorized?

Shar-Teel is placed in the Prison in the Noble Sector (what's the name of it again?) in Athkatla by TDD. SBT addresses this issue of Sarevok sounds, so I am assuming you made the transition without using it. Good job.I never had her talk with a male voice set. Why did you have the original Shar-Teel with you? She is supposed to leave you before you get captured by Irenicus. Same with Edwin and the other NPCs that you find in SOA, they should leave you before then. All of their dialogs are setup to use one set for BG1 and another set for BG2. I can't remember seeing any of them with a combined dialog of both games.

All my NPC's stayed with me through the transition (which didn't harm me this far, for I kicked them all out anyway, except Eddy of course). And Edwin actually has his proper SoA dialouge (for example I tried to join whith Bodhi's guild, and Edwin stated his opinion), so I wonder what went wrong/right in my game
I would avoid that whole thing by kicking him out and let the 2nd Edwin join and give him the XP and stuff of the old one, but I don't now about Variables or Triggers (I'm a total noob concerning this ) that could be missing in this case.
@Ascension64: I didn't know of SBT since a few weeks ago, so I used the normal transition, and it worked fine for me (unlike the ones with my former installations).

I'd like to use my holidays a bit more, but ya know: Girlfriends and buddies tend to steal your precious gaming time

I seem to remember that the Duchal Palace script loop prevents everyone from leaving the party.True since I am still curious as to how you kept Edwin during the normal transition. He should have left you.
