Here are some quick banners I made with some of the pictures posted here. Copy and paste the link into your address bar for it to work.

Banner 1:

Banner 2:

Banner 3:

(same as aboce, just added some better light effects.

Nothing amazing, but I thought I would just give it a try.

I am a fan of the one with the full moon and the mysterious mansion on the hill.

Sure, here are the others:

I would just zoom the full moon/mansion banner out a little further so that it is clear that the mansion is actually on a hill (and also to make the moon a little less prominent).

Yeah.. my service providor has some strange thing on it. You have to copy and paste the address into your address bar, click go or enter and they should work just fine.

I have to say this one is my fav out of the 3 by Pex. I find the mansion with the moon over it a tad bit halloween-ish. *shrug*

While the full moon banner is good, it doesn't go with the theme. Changing the theme (or an alternative theme) to Gothic black and blue would not be good, imo

I wouldn't say that only black&blue would fit that one. Simply imagine a white (or silverish-white)/blue/black theme - it would work nicely. And other variations are possible as well to fit.
And, since we were already talking about multiple skins...

Anyway, here are a few extra artwork of the same cathegory:

I don't know enough, but is it possible to change the banner if you change the skin?

so if the user likes the default skin, he gets the existing banner...but if he likes the blue skin, it changes to the moon shot...etc...

:P

That would somewhat defy the reason of a logo banner to provide instant recognisability. You don't get the golden arches of McDonalds in four shapes and five colours, but if khayman feels up to it he could make variations on a theme. Not that I think it is necessary though as people use different skins just for the viewing pleasure of the forum, threads, post and stuff. A full fledged multicolour banner to adapt to various skins would be too much hassle IMO.

Well Done Sir K. But can the Font be a different colour? Something Darker and moodier perhaps?
