quick question:
i want to remove an unremovable item from my inventory but i couldnt find the proper function for hours. how to?

as shadowkeeper does not work with BP i need to use NI. while this editor may be able to do everything for you, it greatly fails with the simpliest tasks. there's no tutorial, no explanation anywhere how to remove items from your inventory (or for instance, add one).

another thing is some retarded wandering horror made edwin drop his amulet (this is so dull.) and i failed to realize it until underdark. now i'd like to know how to edit the amulet into edwins amulet slot as CLUA summons it into normal inventory slots and it's not moveable.

Open NI up and expand "save"

Find your save game and expand it.

Click on "baldur.sav"

on the right side of the screen is a section called "player characters" click on edwin and then "view/edit"

a new screen will open and you want to click the tab called "CRE" and then the tab "items/spells"

find the item you want to delete and click on it then click "view/edit"

edit the item to make it "dropable" and then save and close.

when you reload your game the item should be dropable.

are you opening "baldur.sav" at the top is two tabs "view" and "edit" you should be on the view tab and the "player characters" is the upper right window. lower left window is "variables" lower right is "non-player characters" and upper left is game time info and party gold.

if you are using the same version as me then you should see it.

i'm using the version from your link and i do not have a view menu at all.
my menus are: game, file, edit, search, tools, options, help. that's it.

The view that you want is in the window on the right not on the menu bar.

NI only supports J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0, not the other runtime software (not even newer versions). Are you using this, or something newer? Just in case the beta version looks really buggy and doesn't open files properly...

is there no other way to make NI run properly or could i use some other editor ? i just dont feel like changing java versions everytime i got a problem like this...

EDIT: ok not the very latest. i'm using the same version as Ronin.

You could try DLTCP found at: http://www.dragonlancetc.com/

other than that I dont know how I can help you more. look at the screen shot closely, the skin for it dont matter just look at where the tabs and stuff are.

got it now.

looking at your screenie i saw i had to edit the baldur.gam, not baldur.sav. also, baldur.gam was NOT even clickable with the default look and feel. i had to change to plastic XP to make this work.
now i got all the features.. and it's not that complicated. was just frustrated because of program not working properly.

NI is the only editor I currently use. There is no better editor in my humble opinion which is so versatile and USER-FRIENDLY. The only problem is that Java is a very slow environment but I don't feel this now as I've assembled an extremely fast PC. The current version of NI is for JRE 1.4, I've tried 1.5 but as Jon said it works better with the version 1.4, the version he used to program the latest NI release including beta 1.32. Hence I've installed JRE 1.4.01 and have no problems with NI at all.

Bloodtitan, could you explain in details what is the problem you have with NI that is so frustrating?

u could remove an undesired items with ShadowKeeper aswell
doesnt work with BP ? how so ?
i'm not sure to understand i successfuly removed some items unremovable with mods installed, sure BP is not installed.

As for NI tutorial , i'm like u, i 'm lost in this proggy. :(; so i'm stick with SK or infinity explorer (but of course it's only for viewing)

If I am not mistaken with the older BP-BGT installed Shadowkeeper cries about the dialog.tlk being too big or something like that.
