Hello all,

Planning on replaying trough BG1 + TOSC + BG2 + TOB :D
But I do need your help guys, I can't really find a DESCRIPTIVE readme anywhere (yeah the readme is interesting but nothing states gameplay details). Could you help me out and try to answer some (stupid) questions ?Thanks!

> Since Jaheira, Minsc, Edwin, ... are in BG1 as well as BG2, they are imported in the starting dungeon when you finish the first half of the trilogy. Correct eh? Yeah but then you do have two copies of NPCs wandering around or not? And your Edwin or Minsc from BG1 won't have anything to say at all, no quests, no banters, because BG2 yust thinks you manually created that char (thank you import function <_< ) correct?

> When I'm playing in BG2, I've read something about the map and BG1 locations, can I still visit them? Can I still add some BG1 char in BG2? Or something like that?
MOD: question answered: http://www.shsforums...showtopic=18519 - thanks!

Thanks very much! :)

Why would anyone need to write a description of the mod? Have you ever played BG1? If so, you know this mod. If not, go buy it because you need it to install this mod anyway.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but that is all BGT is. The BG1 game ported to the BG2 engine. Simple as that.

incorrect: you only have one copy of BG1 npcs in BG2, and their stats and XP are imported correctly in BG2 - ie, they have what you gave them (unless they were never in the party, or didnt attain a similar level as they start with in BG2). they have quests, banters, etc in both BG1 *and* BG2 (it'd be a pretty crap conversion if they *didnt* have their quests and banters). and if you use the BG1NPC project (for BGT) and the BG2 banterpack, the little buggers never shut up from the start of candlekeep to the final battle with melissan.

Woah that's pretty amazing! I'll check it out, still a long way off the BG2 Irenicus dungeon hehe.
Sir BillyBob: Yeah I know, but thanks anyway, and yup I have both bg1+exp and bg2+exp.

Too lazy to start a new thread: When you are thrown in the Irenicus dungeon at the end of BG1, do you lose all your items? I guess.
Another (last one) question: wich class should I pick in the beginning of BG1? I've played trough bg2+exp numberous of times but never managed to start bg1 until now. So far, I'd really like to have the following group:

- a bard of some kind (I heard there are enough NPCs)
- A Kensai/Mage (horray! But kensai's are too weak at lvl1, or aren't they?)
- A thief including backstab (same as bards, at least I think so.)
- A sorcerer (hello Kelsey?)
- A Druid maybe? Never played those before.

So I don't know yet what my protagonist should be like.

As in normal BG2, you will loose most of your items (apart from golden pantaloons,...) - I know BP-BGT added a few items to transfer to BG2 but I don't think BGT does.

On your company - I think you will have to go for the Kensai/mage because there are none of them around in BG1-BG2 (unless you have TS installed as well - you could go for Kachiko then).
There are no sorcerers in BG1 however - BP-BGT made Dynaheir a sorceress but BP-weidu has not been released yet :crying:
There are indeed bards, thieves and druids enough in the game.

All item importation that would normally occur if you simply imported a character into SoA is there when you transition from BG1->BG2.

All right, but a kensai at level 1 is quite weak, isn't it?
Well I'll have to rely on my party anyways.

Another question: Imoen is dualclassed in BG2. I don't really like it (I guess), so what happens when I have Imoen in my party at the end of BG1? Will I end up with the dual classed version or so? How is this done? And what happens with the slight differences in stats for Jaheira and company?
When I take among me a BG1 NPC I suppose he won't ever interact with the BG2 NPCs or is this also included in this mod?

at level 1, every class is weak; kensai at least get 10HP + CON bonus. but as regards what class to play: play whichever you feel like; even if you stuff yr starting BG1 party full of mages, or yr ending TOB party full of fighters, you'll still be able to beat the game, it just might make you use different tactics. so play something yr interested in playing.

Another question: Imoen is dualclassed in BG2. I don't really like it (I guess), so what happens when I have Imoen in my party at the end of BG1? Will I end up with the dual classed version or so? How is this done? And what happens with the slight differences in stats for Jaheira and company?

immy in BG2 will have whatever stats you give her during BG1: so if you never dual-class her in BG1, she'll be a thief in BG2. this is true even if you install the imoen romance.

with the stats differences btw BG1 NPCs and their BG2 counterparts, it's as i said earlier: if you have them in yr party when you transition from BG1 to BG2. otherwise, they'll have their BG2 stats.

BG1 NPCs without detailed banters in BG2 arent going to say a hell of a lot in BG2, unless you've got the BG1NPC project installed *and* they're talking with another NPC from BG1, *then* some of their BG1 banters might fire in BG2.

yes, you lose yr items: you've been kidnapped and imprisoned, after all. the BGTTweak contains a component to allow you to get some of the rarer items back in Chateau Irenicus - altho it doesn't make it easy to get them.

If there are different stats, they will be updated. Else, all the existing information about your NPC is transitioned directly over, so Imoen will not be dual-classed unless you forced her to in BG1, etc., etc.

EDIT: Cross-post! :(
